“Eh??!! Karl got another perfect score in a test??!!”
Everybody couldn’t believe that Karl got 5 consecutive perfect scores in a test. Karl became popular because of his intelligence.
“Looks like you’re really aiming for the top. I myself am also very surprised of the news that you always get perfect scores in test. Who knew you were so clever right?” Rose said.
“I’m doing this for the prize. Prepare my burger and milk Rose.” Karl said.
Karl focused in listening to the teacher. He completely changed and that change was noticed by all the people. He doesn’t come late anymore and he never sleeps anymore and he always listens to the teacher and always gets perfect scores. I always get the chills whenever I remember him as nobody in the class and now he’s the said “sleeping genius that has finally awakened”. Even the teachers sometimes are now afraid to talk to him. The teachers sometimes are speechless because Karl could perfectly answer the questions like he was reading their minds. The top ten students are freaking out because who would have thought that Karl would be this clever and they are obviously jealous.
“Be careful Karl.” Rose said.
“These guys obviously want to be the top of the class and I know they will do anything just to reach it. They would do everything just to erase the things that stand in their way.”
Karl listened to Rose. He looked at her and sighed.
“So? If they try something to erase me then that would just mean that they are a bunch of idiots, right?”
“Don’t take them too lightly. You are completely a threat to them and they wouldn’t just sit still you know. I know they’re planning something now.” Rose said.
“Don’t worry. If they don’t want someone to steal their place in the top ten, I also don’t want someone to steal my burger and milk.” Karl said with a serious face.
Rose looked at him and laughed hard. Karl didn’t understand and also just laughed with her.
“Ahahahaha Why are we laughing? Ahahahaha” Karl asked.
Rose laughed hard and said,
“Is that really the reason why you keep studying and keep pursuing to the top of the class? Is that really your motivation to be the 1st honor even doing things that you don’t really like? A double patty burger and fresh milk? Are you kidding me? Ahahahahahaha.” Rose laughed so hard again. She said her stomach can’t take any more of it.
While Rose was busy laughing, Karl froze. Karl’s eyes kept staring at the floor. Karl’s eyes were saying like, “That’s right. I didn’t use to be like this. Is it really the burger and milk that made me really serious in my studies?” I saw Karl’s face that looked like he can’t figure it out himself. He looked like he wanted to have an answer. Rose stopped laughing at noticed his eyes wanting to find a conclusion.
“Hey Karl I wanted to try something.” Rose said.
“Why don’t we go to the canteen and I’ll treat you now your double patty burger and fresh milk.”
When Karl heard what Rose said, Karl immediately realized that the only way to know what kept him going is to test it out if he keeps on studying even though he already got the prize.
“1 double patty burger, 1 regular burger, 1 fresh milk and 1 cup of coffee please.” Rose said.
“Huh? Why aren’t you having double patty and fresh milk?” Karl asked.
“I’m not a glutton like you Karl Hahaha”
Karl heard what Rose said. I thought Karl would be upset but instead he also laughed with her. Karl and Rose ate their burgers. Karl was upset because he didn’t want any cabbage in his burger even though Rose knew that Karl doesn’t like cabbage.
“I put in some cabbage because I like cabbage you know.”
“It’s not like you’ll be the one to eat the double patty you dumbass.” Karl responded.
Rose kept on laughing and Karl just ate his burger. Karl finished his burger and grabbed the fresh milk.
“Cheers! xD”
“Shut up idiot.” Karl said.
Karl said while being upset. Rose stared at him, laughing and smiling. Karl can’t help it but also laugh and smile. They had fun eating in the canteen and decided to go home. They walked to the train station.
“The prize for being the 1st honor is already given so you don’t have to be the top of the class anymore right?” Rose asked.
“Well, if that would be the case, then yes. I don’t have to.” Karl said.
After Karl said that, silence went through them, only hearing their footsteps.
“But you know what Rose I think I don’t want to give up on the challenge yet.” Karl said while looking at the sky. Rose looked at him and smiled.
“Why is that so?”
Karl looked at Rose after he heard what she said. Rose also looked at Karl and they were both looking at each other. After that Karl suddenly laughed.
“I don’t know. I don’t get it. I don’t know what’s giving me the motivation to continue aiming for the top. I don’t know and I want to know.” Karl said.
Rose looked at him and said,
“You don’t have to know what’s fueling your perseverance to study you know. What’s good is that even though you already have your prize you want to continue to go for the top and I’m very happy about that.”
After that Karl’s eyes were surprised and kept looking at Rose while walking. Rose also looked at him and also on the ground and continued walking to the train station. Karl looked at her and asked,
“Rose, can we do it again tomorrow..? You know about the burger thing and milk?
Karl kept looking at her while walking and Rose looked at him and looked at the ground while walking.
Karl kept looking at her waiting for an answer and Rose said,
“♫ Lalalalalala Karl stepped on a poop. Lalalalalala Karl stepped on a poop ♫.” Rose sang with a beautiful voice.
“Huh? Making fun of me again? Tss. Hey can you please answer my question before?”
Karl waited for an answer. Then Rose said,
“♫ Lalalalalala Karl stepped on a poop. Lalalalalala He stepped one scoop of poop ♫.”
Karl was annoyed. They both arrived at the train station and they already have to separate ways.
“Stop making fun of me Rose. Please just answer my request before.” Karl’s eyes was desperate to have an answer. Rose looked at him and sighed.
“Seriously Karl you stepped on a poop.”
“When Karl heard her he immediately looked at his shoe and it was full of sh*t.”
“What the f*ck where did this sh*t came from why didn’t you tell me sooner Rose you idiot!”
Karl removed the poop in his shoe and Rose was laughing really really hard.
“SHUT UP IDIOT I WAS TELLING YOU THE WHOLE TIME YOU PIECE OF SHIT Nyahahahahahaha”
Karl kept kicking to the ground to remove the poop and Rose walked to the other side of the road. Karl was disappointed for Rose didn’t answer his request.
“We’ll do it again tomorrow if you get your shoes clean nyahahahahaha” Rose laughed really hard and bid farewell to Karl.
Karl heard what she said. Even though he’s shoe was completely full of sh*t, he laughed and smiled with joy.
