My alarm woke me up from my dream. I was dreaming about my last ride on Cobalt. I got out of bed and grabbed my favorite pair of jeans and my blue and green button up shirt. I fishtail braided my hair to the side and put on my black All Star Converse.

I opened up the door just as Kyle pulled up. He shut off the engine and slipped out of the truck. I ran and jumped into his arms. He lifted me up and my legs wrapped around his waist as he carried me into the house. My mom laughed as she saw me. I smiled and stood to get my backpack. Kyle and I said goodbye to my mom and we walked out of the house.

He put my stuff in the back and we drove to school. When we got there, Kyle grabbed my backpack and picked me up "bridal style".

"Kyle put me down!" I laughed.

He chuckled and set me down. As we got to algebra, Emily saw us with his arm wrapped around my waist and gave me a glare and an evil grin. I pressed closer to Kyle and he looked to Emily. He pulled me closer and held me tighter.

"Its alright. She can't hurt us. I love you and only you." he whispered in my ear.

"I love you too." I whisper back.

We walked into class to begin the day. Lunch rolled around and we decided to walk to Dutch Bros. I got a blueberry pomegranate smoothie and he got a vanilla Italian soda. Of course, Emily "randomly" showed up and started to flirt with Kyle.

"Hey Kyle." she said, her voice dripping with sweetness. Eew.

"Emily, I know what your trying to do and its NOTgoing to work. I love Marie, not you. No offense, your pretty and everything but I just don't like you that way. Oh and if you know what's good for you, you'll leave Marie, Her family, her horse, and me alone." I had to hold my breath to keep from busting up laughing.

Emily's face burned with anger. "You know what your problem is, Kyle Brooks?! You have no brain and if you do its REALLY small. Everyone wants to be me or date me and the people who don't are stupid retards!" she stomped away and slammed the door to her pink Corvette.

When she had driven away, I cracked up laughing. "Did... you.... see.... her.... face?!" I said between laughs.

Kyle laughed along with me and answered, "Come on goofball."

He kissed the top of my head and we got into the truck to go back to school. We walked to our Art class. We had to draw our favorite thing in the whole world. Easy, ItsCarmelandSpartan. I thought with a small smile.

When the teacher stopped talking I plugged in my earbuds and clicked on "Arms" by Christina Perri and hit shuffle for my love songs playlist. I began drawing Carmel and Spartan grazing under the apple tree in their pasture. I glanced over at Kyle a few times and each time he would glance at me then his sketch book then back to me again.

I shrugged and went back to my drawing. Mr.Woods told us we had 5 minutes till class ended. I finished my drawing and closed my sketch pad.  I looked over at Kyle's and I could have sworn I was looking in the mirror. Kyle had drawn a perfect replica of me drawing. He smiled and closed his book. The bell rang and we walked to the truck. When we got there, the whole thing was covered in sticky notes and toilet paper. On a sticky note it said, 'it'llbeworsenexttime. Thinkaboutit.~Emily'

Kyle muttered a few choice words before he began to pull it all off and put it into the garbage can near by. I helped him and stayed quiet. He was scaring me. When we were finished, I got into the truck and buckled up.

"What's wrong?" he asked softly, his voice concerned.

"You scared me that's all. that and Emily."

"I...I Scared you?" he stuttered quietly.

"A little." I said even quieter.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I'm just really mad at Emily." We pulled up to the house and got out. He came over to my side and grabbed my stuff. We set our things inside the door and decided to go trail riding.

I grabbed Carmel's tack and set it on the saddle rack outside his stall while I went to go get him out of the field. When I caught him, I led him back to the barn. Kyle was tacking up Spartan and I began tacking up Carmel. His saddle pad, halter, polo wraps, and his grooming kit where all lime green while Spartan's was Red.

When we finished, I slipped my foot into the left stirrup and set myself down into the saddle gently. Carmel, being a soft mouth horse responded easily when I tapped his sides and gently tugged the reighns to the left. I pushed him into his smooth trot and halted him at the gate to the pasture. When Kyle showed up I opened the gate and let Carmel walk inside.

We began cantering to the other side and stopped at the fence across the field. I opened it up and we rode out, closing. it with a small clickbehind us.
