Kyles POV

I couldn't believe this. She would harm horses? innocent horses? Sick. its just sick. I walked to the rubble and looked up at Marie's window. The sun was reaching through the glass and I saw her face pop up in the window. Her hair was down. I loved it like that. A beautiful smile lit up her face. She waved and ran away from the window. About 2 minutes later, she was running across the yard.

She tackled me in a hug and I laughed.

Marie's POV

I loved his laugh. He hugged me back and I looked down. that's when I realized where we were standing. The burnt remains of the barn. I pulled away and began backing away. My wide eyes filled with tears before I ran to the emergency paddock. I vaulted onto Spartans back and took off at a gallop. I cried as he ran. Kyle had yelled my name and I saw him run to Stardust and clamber onto her back. Spartan, being a mustang ran faster than the thoroughbred.

Kyle was around 30-40 yards behind me. I jumped a log and ran to a spot on the creek hidden from the trail we where on and from the world. Kyle raced past and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. I cried and sat on the ground. I stopped when I heard hoofsteps coming back.

"Marie? is that you?" He'd heard me crying. Damn.

I stood up and waited till my eyes looked normal and my tears where gone.

"Yeah." I answered in a normal tone.

I led Spartan out of the spot and Kyle looked at me funny.

"Well that's a different hiding spot."

I cracked a smile and jumped onto Spartan's back. I nudged him into a gallop and yelled over my shoulder, "Race ya!"
