We soon came to a small meadow that was filled with wild flowers. Kyle slipped off of Sunny's back and caught me as I did the same. Gently grabbing my hand, we walked to the middle of the field. He sat down and I sat with him. I closed my eyes and let the warm sun light up my face. I laid on my back and looked up at the clouds. Kyle laid on his back and did the same. I looked over at him and saw his carmel brown eyes looking back. We stared at each other in silence until he said randomly, "I love your eyes. I feel like I'm looking into the ocean when you look at me."
I blushed and looked away. "Your so beautiful when you blush. Your freckles and eyes stand out. Its amazing... like you."
Him saying that made me blush harder and a small nervous giggle escaped my lips. Every part of me told me not to fall for him.... Every part except my fluttering heart that is. It felt so wrong yet so right.
As the sun began to sink, we climbed onto Sunny and galloped back home, abandoning the beautiful field of wild flowers.
We slipped off of Sunny's back and out of the pasture gate, my fingers intertwined in his. As we got to the feed room to feed the horses, he let go of my hand to go get their buckets and hay nets.
I ran to grab Spartans feed bucket and hay net. His water was almost gone which was good. When I got to the feed room someone grabbed me in a hug from behind. My eyes stretched wide in alarm but I was frozen by fear. I stiffened until I looked down and saw the sleeves of Kyle's long sleeve shirt. He laughed and I turned around in his arms. He smiled at me and kissed my forehead while I plafully slapped his chest. When I looked up at him, he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. His eyes softened to gentleness and the playfulness in his eyes melted away.
Butterflies fluttered around in my stomach. He leaned in slowly and gently kissed my lips. The kiss was sweet. He held my waist and my arms where around his neck. I kissed him back. A gasp startled me and I jumped back and stood behind Kyle. I poked my eyes over his shoulder and saw Crystal. My birth mom. She had a stupid grin on her face and I wanted to punch it off. Kyle had his arms behind his back and was doing his best to make sure I was in them.
"I'm sorry. I did that to your sister and Tyler twice. Its adorable!" My cheeks burned a fire truck red and I grabbed Kyle's hand.
I slowly stepped out and hugged his side. He wrapped his arms protectively around me. "Hello Crystal." I said looking her in the eyes.
"Who's this?" Kyle whispered in my ear.
"My birth mother. Crystal Smith." I answered.
"Oh." Kyle said.
"I was just stopping by to see the kids so I thought I'd come see you." she explained. "But you look a little busy so I'll see you later." she smiled.
"Okay see you soon." She nodded and walked away.
"Perfect timing huh?" Kyle smiled I just giggled and we began to fill the buckets and hay nets.
