Tires on gravel made the dusty chestnut benieth me fidget nervously. The horse was a rescue colt that hadn't been broken in. The little colt began his little bucking episode again, sending me flopping like a dead fish in the saddle. Kyle got out of the truck and came over to the fence, with his hands behind his back.

When he calmed down, I slipped off his back and walked to the fence. Kyle pulled his hands from behind his back and in his hands was a small dachshund puppy. He was a double dapple and absolutely adorable.

"Oh my god! He's adorable!!" he had a small blue ribbon tied around his neck that shimmered in the sunlight.

"He's yours." Kyle passed the tiney puppy to me.

"Thank you so much!" I said.

He leaned in and kissed me. It was soft and feathery. I smiled when he pulled away and we walked into the barn to put the feisty little colt away. I guess I would name the puppy Oscar.

I had yet to name the colt but he was fast so I named him Firecracker. Kyle held my hand tightly in his. I held Oscar in my other hand and we walked to the house.

heres a quick update. its just a filler but the puppy isn't the whole surprise. that won't come till later. what do you think the rest of the surprise is?
