I stepped into the now finished barn. The horses munched on their feed while I walked to the tack room to drop off some clean and dry saddle pads. Two weeks ago it was just a frame and just last week the last skrew was put into the hinge on the last stall door. In that timeframe Kyle and I had to face Emily Monday through Friday. I finished putting away the saddle pads and checked my phone. 5:45. I ran upstairs and took a quick shower before putting on some lip gloss and fishtail braiding my hair to the side. I pulled on a T-shirt that was a blue gray color with a rearing horse that said 'never ridden before? Let me teach you the ways of my people.' on it. Kyle and I had seen it and on my birthday he gave it to me. I pulled on my boot cut jeans and my boots. I slung my backpack over my shoulder and jogged down the stairs. Quickly I made a bagel and ran out the door to meet Kyle.
He hadnt shown up yet so I sat on the porch and ate my bagel. It was 6:55 when he pulled up with an unreadable expression on his face that instantly brightened the second he saw me. I gave him a bright smile and stood up. When he was out of the truck he waled over and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close to him. He smiled and I put my arms around his neck as I stood up on tippy toes. He brushed his lips across mine and pulled away.
Smiling, he intertwined my fingers with his and put my stuff in the truck. We got in and drove toward the direction of school. He turned on the radio and "Arms" by Christina Perrie filled the truck. Board, I began to sing along.
"I never thought that you would be the one to hold my heart. But you came around and you knocked me off the ground from the start. You put you arms around me and I believe that its easier for you to let me go. You put your arms around me and im home.
How many times will you let me change my mind to turn around? I can't decide if I'll let you save my life or if I'll drown. I hope that you see right through my wall. I hope that you catch me cuz I'm already fallin'. You put your arms around me and I'm home."
"Your really good. I love your voice." Kyle smiled at me.
I blushed a deep shade of red and murmured "Thanks."
"Hey. I just realized that we don't have a song. Let's make this our song! sound good?" His eyes brightened.
"Yeah! perfect." I answered.
We where quiet for a moment before we got to school. We got out and walked to first period hand in hand. When we got there he stopped me at the door.
"Hey, Marie?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you." He kissed me on the forehead and we walked into class to see Emily talking to her clones.
This ought to be fun! NOT!
