The background noise of television played out as I watched the rain fall down drinking a hot cup of coffee to stay warm, I love this type of weather; the storms, the rain and the coldness of it all, I just loved every part of it.

There are some people who don't like it so much, some people who are terrified of it and I can't understand why they would be.

Rain and thunderstorms are my favourite type of season.

Suddenly I had a thought or more like a memory;

"Mark please" Jackson cowered in the corner, absolutely hating the sound the outside world was causing.

"Jackson you know I can't stop the sound of thunder," I tried to reason with him but he wasn't having it as he hid his head in his hands and sat in the corner of the room.

"Come here" I called out to him, taking him into my arms and comforting him as the sounds continued outside.

;

Jackson was all alone right now, would it be weird to go to him? He needs me to be with him now more than ever. He gets so upset over the thunder.

So I did what any sane person would do, and ran. I ran all the way to Jackson's house and although it was pretty close to mine I ended up saturated before getting to his door step as I completely forgot to take an umbrella or jacket or any sort of protection with me.

I knocked on the door out of breath and drenched in water, not getting an answer the first few times so I opened the door and let myself in heading towards what I thought would be Jackson's bedroom.

Congratulating myself on getting it right I let myself into his room and saw a small figure in the corner crying just like my memory.

"Jackson?" I called out just to make sure I hadn't entered some strangers house.

He looked up quickly and frightened, tears filled his eyes.

"Markie?" he called back, and I made my way over to the boy.

"shh Jackson I'm here now," I hushed him taking him into my arms and stroking his hair, "the thunder won't hurt you" I reassured him.

"Why are you soaking wet Mark?" he asked a sniffle escaping his nose, "did you run here without any rain protection?" he asked immediately knowing the answer.

Instead of answering I just looked down slightly ashamed.

"Mark!" he exclaimed, "you're going to get yourself sick!!"

"That doesn't matter right now Jackson, I'm more worried about you right now" he smiled up at me, "I remembered about you being petrified over thunder storms and I couldn't sit in my house and leave you all alone."

His arms went tighter around me, hearing these words, "Oh Markie" he cooed.

"Even if I never remember everything about us Jackson, I'll always love you and be there for you" I pecked him on his lips softly as he hugged me tighter.

The two of us hadn't even realised the storm had stopped a while ago.
