Maggie's pov
"Dad, what are you doing here?" I surprisingly asked.
"I'm here to walk my daughter down the aisle."
"What? You kicked me out when I was fourteen because you hated me for being gay. Why would you walk me down the aisle!?"
"I can explain everything. Why don't you and your fiancée meet me tomorrow at Castillo?" he asked.
"No, I had to live with my aunt for three years because of you! Get out!" I yelled.
He left and I started sobbing while shutting the door.
"Hey, babe. What's wrong? Talk to me." Alex asked.
"You know why I haven't introduced you to my parents? He's the reason why, my Dad kicked me out when he found out that I was gay. My Mom didn't even stop him, she just watched me pack my bags. I lived with my aunt for three years and then, I left the house." I explained.
"Oh, sweetie. I'm so sorry, why haven't you told me this?"
"I didn't want to tell you."
"You know what? Can we please meet with your Dad? He said that he could explain everything, we'll listen to what he has to say, and if you feel like punching him, then we'll leave. Deal?" Alex asked.
"Maybe... Okay, but I'm only doing this for you."
The next day at Castillo
Dad was already sitting at the table, I noticed he was still wearing the watch I once bought for him.
"Hey, Mags." he sweetly said.
"Hi, Dad." I replied.
"I'm Robert Sawyer, nice to meet you." Dad said to Alex.
"Hello, I'm Alex Danvers, nice to meet you too." she answered. "Why don't we sit down and talk?"
"Good idea. I missed you so much, Maggie." he said to me.
"Really? Why didn't you visit me? I sent you letters, hoping that one day you'll forgive me for being myself. You knew where I lived, I always wrote my adress on it."
"Okay, let me explain. I was okay with you being gay, it was Mom who wanted to kick you out. I argued with her but she threatened to hurt you if you would stay home. I didn't want you to get hurt, that's why I had to send you away. I still have your letters, but Mom couldn't find out about them. We got divorced a few months ago, she left me for a younger guy. And you're the only one I have left. And now, I'm here. Can you please forgive me?"
"Maybe. Don't ever leave me again, Daddy."
"Never, sweetie." he replied. "Now, introduce me to your beautiful fiancée."
"Well, this is Alex Danvers. We have been engaged for a few months and we're getting married in a week. She has a sister, named Kara. She's Alex' maid of honor." I said.
"Are you staying here, Mr. Sawyer?" Alex asked.
"Yeah, I'm staying in a hotel for the moment. I think it's called 'Everhart Palace'. And please, call me Robert, we're family now. I've got one question to ask you, can I please come to your wedding? I have missed out on so much. I would really like to walk Maggie down the aisle."
"Maggie, what do you say?" Alex asked me.
"I wouldn't want it any other way." I smiled.
