9. She's fine with me

Alex' pov

I woke up with the sound of a beeping machine. I looked around and realized that I was in a hospital. I looked at my right and saw the monitor, I also noticed some flowers on a little cupboard. Then, I glanced to my left and saw Maggie sleeping in a chair. I gently poked her, and she turned around. I poked her once again, she opened one eye and suddenly, she stirred up.

"Hey, sweetie.  How are you doing?" Maggie asked, while holding my hand.

"I'm doing okay, besides the circumstances." I answered.

You got shot by Charlotte, do you remember?" she asked.

"Yes. Where are all the others?" I replied.

"They are grabbing some lunch. You've been in a coma for a few days. Your surgery went well, they were able to remove the bullet. You must rest now, you've been through a lot."

"Wait... I just realized that I got shot on our wedding day. So I told you so!"

"You told me what?"

"The day before our wedding, I said I had the feeling that something was going to go wrong. I'm lying in a hospital bed, so I was right."

"Okay... say it. If that will make you feel better."

"I told you so, Mrs. Sawyer!" I answered.

"There's the Alex I know and love." she replied. "Now, don't move. I'm going to call the others, they'll be happy to see you awake."

"Okay."

Kara's pov

J'onn, Mon-El, James, Winn and I went to get a sandwich. We needed to eat something, because we were starving. We swapped places every hour to make sure that somebody was with Alex when she would wake up. Maggie had the most difficult time of us all. One minute, tying the knot with my sister and the next minute, her wife getting shot in the stomach. I was eating my sandwich when I got a call from Maggie.

"Kara, come now. It's urgent!" Maggie blurted.

"What? Is it bad news?" I anxiously asked.

"No, Alex is awake. She's waiting for you, guys. Get your ass to the hospital!"

"Okay! I'll call Mom and Dad." I said and hung up. "Come on, guys. Alex is awake, she's back. We have to go, now!" I excitedly screamed to the boys.

We dropped our sandwiches and ran to the hospital. Meanwhile, I called Eliza and Jeremiah. They weren't here because they had to go to work. They said  I had to call them as soon Alex woke up. I entered the hospital and I sprinted to Alex' room. She was lying in bed with Maggie by her side.

"Hey, sis. I haven't seen you in a while." she jokingly said.

"Alex! Never do that to me again, I don't want to lose you." I answered.

"Not my fault, it was Charlotte. Where is she, by the way?" she asked to Maggie.

"She's been arrested, she's going to prison. We're safe, nothing is going to happen to us." Maggie replied.

"And where are Mom and Dad?" Alex asked me.

"I called them, they are coming in 10 minutes. They will be so happy to see you awake, Alex. You scared everyone." I answered. " And now, it's time for a sisterly hug."

Maggie's pov

Eliza and Jeremiah came by to finally hold their daughter in their arms. Even Robert paid a visit, he was very happy to see Alex. Kara and the rest went home after a few hours to get some sleep after all these days. I stayed with my beautiful wife to keep her company, we talked a lot.

"I'm happy to be back. The only thing I want more than ever is a kiss from you. I had to miss your kisses for a few days." Alex laughed.

I pulled her closer to my body, and touched her lips. They were so sweet and soft, it's like I almost forgot how they felt.

"The doctor said that you can go home in 5 days if everything goes fine. He wants you to take it easy so your stitches can heal properly. Understood?"

"Yes, I understood every word. Now... what about our honeymoon? We were supposed to be in Italy right now."

"I took care of that. I rescheduled our honeymoon, we'll leave in one week. Your Dad will take over your job at the DEO in the meantime. We can finally have some time to ourselves." I answered.

"I love you so much, you know that?" she giggled.

"I know, Mrs. Sawyer. I love you too." I replied.
