"Momma! Momma look!" a squealing 5-year old held up a stark white paper origami crane, showing it to her mother.
"Aw, sweetheart, how pretty!" her mother exclaimed, taking the crane out of her chubby hands with utmost care.
"It's a... it's a..." she fumbled with her own words, eyes scrunching together as she thought of the right word to say.
"A crane?" her mother implies sneakily, a smile creeping on her face.
"Yeah! That one!" the little girl cries, her (h/c) bouncing.
"Oooh... can you make one for me... in pink?" her mother winked, cooing as she inspected her daughter's creation further.
Little (y/n) beamed, a dazzling smile ever present on her face. "But this one is for you Momma! I can make another one if you want! I can make so many, and get a collection!"
Her mother laughed, long (h/c) hair, the exact same color as (y/n)'s, falling off her shoulders.
"Why didn't you make it for yourself first?" her mother questioned gently, a smile still present.
"Uhm..." the girl tapped her pointer finger on her lip; once; twice. "Well, I guess I kind of thought of you first..." she says sheepishly.
Her mother's eyes light up.
"Here, I have something for you too!" the mother exclaims, dragging her daughter by her hand and leading her to their home.
Their home was beautiful.
A square mansion, made from grey bricks that were covered in ivy on one side.
(y/n) and her family loved the ivy very much, having been there since her father was born.
Sometimes, at the middle of the day when her parents were in the garden, she would try and climb the ivy.
Everytime she tried, she would get one would step higher to the ashy blue roof.
On the right side of their house, there was a wooden shed, where the goats and chickens stayed as well as their food.
Behind the house, there was the garden- filled with bushes and one large oak tree stood, covering the sunny blue sky.
Mother (l/n) took her inside, revealing a stunning living room- shiny caramel wood floor, with a dark grey fireplace with lined frames on top.
Velvet red couches were set up neatly, contradicting the messy blankets thrown carelessly over them.
Up the staircase, turning right and going to the last room at the end of the hallway.
Opening the door, we come to the biggest room in the house- the second biggest being (y/n)'s, even after her protests of the size.
"Close your eyes," her mother giggled.
(y/n) did as she was told, biting her lip to a bad-suppressed a smile.
The mom lead her by her hand, the girl recognizing that she was in the middle of the room due to the soft carpet.
Carefully letting go of her hand, a second later a silky cloth was placed in her hand instead.
"Oh wow Momma! Thaaaaaank you!" her daughter threw her arms around her mother's neck, laughing joyously.
When her mother hugged her back lovingly, (y/n)'s grip on her elegant periwinkle dress never weakened.

"Taurus!" 12-year old (y/n) called, facing the yard.
"Hey, sweetheart, are you alright?" a male voice asks, peeking out the back door.
"Dad! I can't find Taurus-kun!" she cries hopelessly, looking at the ground, tears in her eyes.
"Taurus?" her father taps his chin, unsure of who she means. "Who's that?"
"Oh!" her (e/c) eyes brighten. "It's a secret, but I'll tell you!" she gestures him to come forward.
Father (l/n) chuckles, obeying to her command.
"Taurus-kun is a mouse." she finally says when they are ear-to-ear. "He sometimes tells me the secrets of the woods..."
The woods were behind the garden, mounds of tangly trees melting together at the top. Most of the time, it's dark there, but at sunrise the light enters the forest horizontally.
"Oh I see. But isn't it better to experience things yourself?" the father said, tilting his head to the side.
"What do you mean?"
"What about, if I take you there and then show you what the woods actually look like?"

"How much time does she have left, doctor?" father (l/n) asked the doctor in white.
He sighs, pushing his glasses further onto his nose.
"I'm sorry, but she doesn't have long. A few hours, maybe. I can't do anything to lengthen her lifespan," he replied.
The father nodded, and showed the doctor the way to leave the house, down the stairs.
15 year old (y/n) was peeking on the two men, her mind trained on her sick mother in her parents shared bedroom.
When the father came back up, he put his hand on the doorknob of their bedroom, but stopped and said, "Come on (y/n), I know you're there. It's best if you come as well."
The mother was indeed sick.
Sitting in a soft green armchair, covered in a brown blanket- she looked particularly peaceful with a neutral expression.
When she saw her two most loved possessions walk in, tears of happiness already became present for her.
"(y/n), my sweetheart, come here."
She embraced her daughter, while her husband embraced her, snuggling against her in the armchair.
"I have to tell you something," the mother said, her chin resting on top of (y/n)'s (h/c) hair.
The teenager hummed, enjoying her mother's presence.
(y/n) felt confused, sad, and happy at the same time- she wasn't sure what was happening. Her mother was dying, yet here they were- cuddling against each other while her mother had to tell her something.
Wasn't there anything (y/n) could do?
"I need you to remember this. Always, and I mean always, look at the better side of people- don't dismiss someone by their appearance, or the actions that they have done."
She paused.
"It's all about being kind, your greatest strength. The world's strength, and we need more of it. Treat everyone you come by with kindness, see the better side of them, no matter what happens. Please, my (y/n), bring kindness to anyone who needs it."
(y/n) nodded, tears flowing down her cheeks.
Her father's embrace on his wife tightened.
The mother never spoke a word again.
