"Stop that coach! Close those gates!"

I turned around, only being able to get a glimpse of a long, platinum blond haired man before my view was obstructed by the gates. They were dark and painfully drear, as if saying a final 'goodbye'.

We were only about a dozen meters away from the closed doors before they opened again.

Ebony black horses traversed through them the second they opened just enough for their size. At an apace rate, the steeds chased after us.

I gulped worriedly as my mice/horses sped up as well, my head still peeking out the window as we left castle territory.

My hair was in complete disarray now, and Spocky's neat navy attire as well. The sparrow would constantly spur on my neighing friends with a screech.

I know we reached forest territory by the way the road turned bumpy, causing me to jumble around in the carriage.

The image of the horses in my mind flashed again, and I shivered by the memory and cold. The riders in their blood red capes and sharpened swords were a sight to remember.

"Dong!"

My heart dropped a few hundred feet down at the noise.

The last strike of midnight.

Immediately, I began to notice the changes. The silver carriage walls started to grow matte, and Spocky's voice became softer. Thankfully, my Lyra, Taurus, Capricorn, and Virgo still kept up their racing pace.

The walls suddenly bloomed orange as the wheels collapsed underneath me. I let out a shriek, and find myself tumbling to thr ground on a dirt road.

Sparks emit infront of me, and my horses turn back to mice.

Without further ado, I scoop up the critters and throw myself to the side, hiding behind a tree and a bush.

The clever mice seem to notice my tensed state, and they quiet down.

I gentle smile at them when I realize they're shaking, giving their fur a light stroke with my hand.

The stallions sprint the direction we were going, waving their weapons.

I watch sadly as they trample on the shrunken pumpkin, now normal sized. The vines and leaves attach splatter violently in the mud, and the pretty sunset orange color fades into a moldy green.

My dress was gone, leaving me behind in my torn pink one that belonged to my mother.

As they leave, still following a non-existent me, I can't bring myself to get up.

A familiar cry echoes in the trees, and the beautiful bird I had grown familiar with perched on the bush next to me.

"I'm sorry," I began, looking at Spocky then back to the others. "Ah- I guess I forgot about everything. Even the time, but, ah, it was so wonderful. And he was so handsome and when we danced..." I look up dreamily, holding my hands together at my chest.

The mice seemed to grin at eachother with their small teeth.

"...oh well, it's over and-" I stood up, and suddenly Virgo started squeaking, looking at me with pointing onyx eyes.

Her caramel snout pointed at my feet, and I looked down to realize I was still wearing a glass shoe.

"Oh," I smile, and look up to the sky, wanting Mavis to hear me. "Thank you. Thank you so much, for everything."

Orga Nanagear was snoring in a red-plushed seat when his superior came to speak with him.

Rogue Cheney looked at the sleeping, slouching man with disregarding eyes. This man is supposed to be my lieutenant? he thought, groaning as he clutched a glass shoe in his right hand.
