"We should really stop meeting like this," a deep voice says huskily.

I looked up.

I felt like I had already memorized the sharp contours of his face, the strong jawline that reached his covered ears, slanted eyes with those piercing blue orbs, thin lips that were slightly open.

He grins at me again, those fangs closer to me than last time.

The man doesn't let me out of his trap, and I'm not sure that I want to.

I wanted to shrink back, make the obstacle behind me consume me, make myself go away. Yet here I was, still staring at the man like I wasn't sure who he was.

But I did.

"MISS (Y/N)! GET OFF OF HER YOU FILTHY PERVERT! NOW!" a voice growled loudly, filled with fury and hatred.

Kagura looked like she was about to rip the blonde's head off and shove it down the toilet of the nearby candy store.

He turns around, raising one elegant eyebrow.

Now his back was against me, and that was no help either.

"And you are?" he asks, amusement in his voice as he inspects Kagura.

"I am Miss (y/n)'s friend. And I want you to leave her alone," the aubergine-haired maiden said, not intimidated once by the not-necessarily strangers voice.

"Miss (y/n)?" his eyes fall on me again, burning into mine.

I flush, feeling myself burn up, legs shaky and weak. I press my hands against the stall in hopes of stabilizing myself under his sudden presence.

No.

(y/n), you are not feeling like this because of this stranger.

It's just... the moment.

"Just a habit," I say quickly.

Kagura has a disbelieved look on her face, then turning into a questionable one. I shake my head in response, and she understands.

The news of Master (l/n) dying has never been set out in the public.

He glances to the mismatched crowd, a worried look on his face now. Then his head snaps back to me, eyes lighting up.

Oh god.

"Well, love, it's time we get going, right?" he winks, circling his arm around mine.

I'm temporarily shocked by the gesture, not sure what to do next.

Kagura mouths "love?" at me in absolute horror, and I am only able shrug my shoulders helplessly.

"Let's go!" he declares, throwing his fist in the air.

And we were off, Kagura lost.

"So, what do we have to do?" he says happily, eyes scanning the surroundings as if they were candy.

"I- I, uhm-" I stutter, not sure what to do.

"Oh come on love, you weren't this shy when we met," the man says, and I notice he is wearing the same cloak as last time.

"Well," I found my voice again. "I need green apples."

"Green apples? I thought those weren't in season?" he asks with askance, suspicious even though I haven't done anything wrong.

"Oh are they now? My bad," I lie.

"You won't find them anywhere," he warns me airily, scratching the back of his neck.
