My hand skimmed over the glistening walls of the carriage.

My finger tips, surprisingly, weren't stained with glitter, like I expected them to be.

"Okay, okay. We got the carriage- what's next?" my godmother mumbled to herself, still flying several feet above me.

"Uhm, how about some horses to pull the carriage?" I say timidly, still not entirely sure what was going on.

A little girl appeared calling her my 'fairy' godmother, flies in the air, impaled a pumpkin with a wand, and created a beautiful silver carriage.

And she says she wants me to go the ball.

"Ex-excuse me?" I whisper, still hesitant around her.

"Yah?" she answers, floating through the air, looking intently.

"I- I don't really understand why you're here..."

Mavis gives me a look. "(y/n), I'm here to bring you to the ball. That was your wish, right? To see your friend one more time? It's not that hard, and I did pledge to be your godmother at your birth," she smiles warmly.

My mouth drops open. She was serious! "I- uhm, thank you..."

Mavis had already turned away from me, but I could feel the smile on her face.

"Now, I need to magic up some horses!" the fairy declared. "But..."

"Oh!" I snap my fingers. "Wait a moment Miss, I'll be right back!" I dash off, hearing Mavis yell behind me 'call me Mavis!'.

I hurry down the cold stairs, into the cellar.

There I see Lyra, Capricorn, Virgo, and Taurus munching on some bread, their bellies round and full.

"They're you are! Come on, I have a surprise for you!" I giggle, happy I can take my friends with me. It feels so nice to be joyous and to have someone helping you.

I scoop them up, making them squeak. "Guys, we're gonna have an adventure!" I whisper excitedly. "In the palace!"

"Ah, perfect!" Mavis cries, and another wand appeared in her hands.

The next moment, four horses stood lined up. Two in the back, and two in the front. The male two in the back were white and black, while the female two in the front were caramel and pink colored.

"Oh my," I breath, stroking Lyra's snout. She neighed, leaning into my touch. "Does it feel weird being such a beautiful horse all of a sudden?"

Before I get an answer, I squeak when I realize that there was another man sitting on a small bench, holding the reigns of my mice.

"This is Spocky. He was a sparrow, but for now he'll be your coachman," Mavis explained, smiling as if turning birds into humans and then naming them was completely normal.

"Nice to meet you," I nod my head at him happily.

"Eeeek!" he screeches back, opening his mouth in a perfect 'o'.

"He... uh, still has to get used to it," Mavis says awkwardly. "Okay, now, for your dress..."

"Oh, there's no need for that!" I say, not wanting to bother her anymore. "You can just quickly fill in the sleeves and fix the seams, and I'll be fine!"

Mavis looks at me skeptically. "I don't mean to be rude, but that shade of pink doesn't really... suit you..."

I laugh, loving her honesty. "This was my mothers," I explain.
