Our eyes were locked on each other, and the dread filled me slowly but surely.
He's the prince.
I talked so casually to a prince.
The prince of my country.
I shook my head, trying to rid myself of these plaguing thoughts. This man helped me out, I told myself. He kept me company and laughed with me.
I smile at the memory.
Time to make some new memories, (y/n)... Mavis' voice whispered, and I made my way down the soft stairs, my breathening quickening by every step I took.
I was at the end of the stairs now.
I looked back at him again, only to find him looking at me as well-
"(y/n)?" a voice interrupted my thoughts, and I looked into the eyes of my best friend Yukino. "What are you doing here?"
Yukino was wearing a bright mint green dress, a ray of light in this unfamiliar area. The rim had a light fluff too it, and there was a matching green rose in her hair.
I sigh, realizing how tense I was. "I got invited, and it's a public ball," I reminded her.
"Sorry, it's just weird seeing you here, I guess. I was kina scared to see you here, with Kagura breathing down my neck about you," the white-haired girl laughs shyly. "But she isn't coming, she has to take care of a sick Beth."
I frown. "Beth is sick? Is she alright? Is she allowing people to come over and visit?"
"Jeez (y/n), don't jump to conclusions!" Yukino admonishes. "she just has a cold, don't worry."
"Thank god, you scared me!" I cry, feeling the burning gaze of Prince Sting out of the blue. Yukino is covering his view from me, annoying him. "How's it going with Rogue?" I tease, trying to take away my attention from him.
She flushes, her brown eyes trailing left.
I look that way as well, seeing a handsome male standing there, leaning against a pillar. Even with his antisocial nature, he looked cool and collected among all of these people.
"Go get him," I whisper, pushing her towards him.
"What, (y/n)! No-" she starts, but Rogue already noticed her.
I see him from the corner of my eye walking towards her, greeting my best friend silently. Yukino's cheeks are as red as his eyes, making him smile mildly.
I grin, seeing my best friend happy is a real treat.
Momentarily, I had forgotten about Prince Sting, but the thought came back quickly.
I moved forwards, narrowly avoiding a waiter who was carrying long glasses of pink champagne.
I turned my head, my (e/c) eyes meeting scorching sapphire.
I couldn't breath.
He easily manoeuvred through the chattering oblivious crowd, heading straight towards me. His blue eyes that I've been waiting for so long were locked on mine.
The man stopped right in front of me, and we stared into each other eyes.
I could feel a mixture of soaring birds and leaping frogs in my stomach, moving all the way from my toes to the wispy strands of my hair.
"If I may?" the stranger- no, Prince Sting, asked cautiously, taking his hand in mine. His blue eyes glanced up at mine worriedly, as if asking for confirmation, before giving me a small smile.
