Chapter 14- What Was Lau Doing?

I walked into her room and picked her up causing her to cry and scream.

"MUMMY LET GO!" She screamed as well as kicking and hitting me.

"Lauren! What do you have to say to mummy?" I stayed calm and tried to discipline her or she will never learn.

"LET GO!" This time she shouted as I carried her downstairs and put her on the naughty step for three minutes as she's three. I placed her down and watched her for a minute before walking off, setting the timer for three minutes time. I walked back to her and found her out of the seat. So, I picked her up and placed her back down before going back and setting the timer back to three minutes. I went to check on her again and she was just sat there in a huff. At least she was being a good girl and listening to me. I walked off again so I wasn't giving her any attention at all until the timer went off and three minutes was up. I went back to her and bent down to her level.

"Now Lauren what do you have to say?" I firmly said to her

"Sorry!" She didn't even look at me.

"Lauren look at me and say it again!" She looked at me with puppy dog eyes.

"Sorry!"

"What for?"

"Sorry for hitting and shouting at you!"

"Good girl! Now huggy for mummy?"

She nodded as I picked her up and hugged her tight as we walked through the kitchen and I put her into her chair. Nath brought out the dinner to the table and gave princess her favourite knife and fork. She wolfed down her food quickly and finished just before me and Nathan.

"Mummy can I go back upstairs now?" She asked with hope in her eyes.

"Will you let me and daddy see what you are doing up there?"

She nodded before getting down and running back up to her room. You wouldn't think she was in hospital a few days ago by looking at her now. The only way you can tell is if you were there or if you look at the top of her head closely. Anyway I got up and started washing the plates as I felt two strong snake like arms wrap around me. Nathan put his head on my shoulder and watched as I quickly washed the dishes.

"Nath what do you think Lau is doing?" I asked a bit upset that she's growing up really fast in front of my eyes.

"Drawing? Colouring? Playing with her teddies? I don't know!"

He kissed my cheek before grabbing my hand and leading me upstairs and into Lauren's room. She was sat on the floor with a pen in her left hand and the paper on the floor.

"Princess what are you doing?" Nathan asked as he bent down next to her.

"I'm writing look!" She gave Nath the paper and he read it if he could. He smiled as he placed it back down. She must get her writing off both of us but mainly Nath.
