What's Up Princess?

Chapter 11- Max Turns Up

We all sat down at the table eating our breakfast for me and Chloe it was sausage, eggs and beans! For Lauren, Chlo made her special pancakes with a biscuit on the side. I could tell Lau was enjoying hers as one it's all round her mouth, two she wolfed it down before we've hardly started and three she was smiling the smile I haven't seen on her face in a long time! "Enjoy that princess?" I obviously asked her I always do, it just comes naturally!

"Thank you mummy, daddy yes I did enjoy them!"

"You not as moody as earlier now Lau?"

"Nope I've eaten now!" She does make me laugh sometimes. She's a smart kid for her age but I don't know where she gets her humour from as Clo and I don't have a good sense of humour we have a rather bad one actually!

"Can I leave the table daddy?"

"Just wait a minute and then we'll all be finished okay!" She's a really polite girl as well, well she's basically the full package a parent could dream of in a kid! I finished the last bits of my food when the doorbell rang, who the hell could it be at this time in the morning? I'm not expecting anyone I don't think.

"Daddy can I leave the table now?"

"Come here and let me wipe your mouth and then you can answer the door with me okay!" I had to make sure she had the sticky substance off her face before we go and answer the door. So I picked up a baby wipe from the sideboard, picked Lau up and wiped her face with it!

"Your a clean girl again now!" She just smiled and rested her head against me.

"Nath I think you might want to get the door now!" Clo is still in a mood for some reason at least I got my princess out of a mood!

I walked out of the kitchen too the hallway and into the porch where my freezing cold front door opened

"Hi Nath, I came to see how this little one is doing." It was Max of course as none of the others will be up yet except maybe Seev but I'm not sure.

"Hi Max, Lau are you going to say hi to uncle Maxy?"

She shook her head and buried it in my chest, I don't know why but she's really shy even around people she knows.

"Yeah I think she's fine just still stitches on her head but she seems to be recovering well so all is good and hopefully we can forget about all of what happened in a few weeks time!"

"Yeah hopefully and hopefully she can come to be our mascot again."

"In fact tomorrow you'll be able to see her again as Chloe is at work."

With that I closed the door again keeping the heat in and the cold out. I kissed Lauren's head as she was still buried into my chest. I quietly walked back through to the front room where Clo was sitting on the sofa listening too music. I went over with Lau still in my arms sitting next to our fish tank, don't ask why but my princess likes looking at the fish and the pretty colours.

I'm sorry it's a short chapter and I'm absolutely extremely sorry that's it's taken ages to give you this chapter!
