What's Up Princess?

Chapter 21

This is it my voice. Without my voice I have nothing. No career. Nothing. I suppose I've got to trust Jayne and Nano and do what I can to save my voice meaning no talking. I ended that skype call and clicked on Max's name to start a new skype call.

"Hey up baby Nath."

I waved. "Is the rest of the boys their?"

"Yeah I'll get them."

I sat waiting while Max shouted the other boys. They all came running down and collapsed on Max's bed.

"Hey Nath how are you?" All the boys asked except Jay.

"Yeah well I've got to tell you something."

"Go ahead bro."

"Well my voice is getting worse again."

They all had shocked faces and I started crying. My career may be over. After a few more minutes of talking we said our final goodbyes and I put my laptop away again.

I quickly checked on Lauren who was still peacefully sleeping. I hurried back downstairs and joined Chloe back on the sofa. I cuddled right up into her and just smiled at her. Mum was still sat on the other sofa smiling at us which to be honest I found a little bit creepy. I got my phone out and went onto the Toys R Us website because one, there's one in Gloucester and two, it's Star Renae's birthday and I think both me and Chloe want to go and see her and maybe let her live with us again.

"You alright Nath?" Mum asked and I just nodded. No I'm not okay, my career is on the line but I'm not just going to say that to mum am I? No!

************2 hours later*************

Lauren is still asleep upstairs but I should really go and wake her shouldn't i? Jess came home as well and is now sat talking about girl stuff with Chloe. It is the right time to get Lauren right? Yeah course it is. Well I mean she's been asleep ages.

I got up and kissed Chloe's forehead before walking upstairs and into my beloved room. Lauren was still asleep in the middle of the bed so I picked her up slowly making her stir. I kissed the top of her head just like I did with Chloe's and that's when she started groaning and moaning.

"Hi Lau." I looked at her and smiled.

"Hello daddy. Where are we?"

"We are in Gloucester where my parents, your grandparents live."

"Auntie Jess?"

"And auntie Jess. Do you want to see auntie Jess?"

"Yeah but me needs to change."

"Yeah you do. Auntie Jess might even take you to the park later if you feel better."

"Me not better. Tummy hurts daddy!"

"Cuddles and your medicine will help that."

"Yucky medicine! Stay in pyjamas?"

I nodded and cuddled her tight before leaving the room again and taking her downstairs. I went into the living room where all three girls were.

"Look who's awake at last!" I announced making Chloe turn and smile at me while mum was in awe as she's never seen me with my own children before. On the other hand Jess was just sat looking at us.

"Are you going to say hello, Lauren?" Lauren waved and I put her down so she could walk. She went straight over to mummy (Chloe) where she picked her up and put her on her lap. Clo sorted out Lauren's hair before putting her back on the floor. Lauren came back to me and stood with her arms out waiting for me to pick her up. I picked her up and took her over to my mum who took her from me and sat her on her knee. Lau cuddled right up into mum and it was so cute so I had to take a photo and put it on Twitter and Instagram.

'My little girl with her grandma for the first time. Both gorgeous and so is @ChloeSykesxox who produced my little girl. Xx'

I tweeted that and put it on Instagram and straight away my mentions were blowing up. I put my phone away and went into the kitchen to make drinks etc.

"Anyone want a cuppa?" I asked from the kitchen.

"No thanks Nath!"

Looks like it's just myself then and Lauren having a drink. I found one of Lauren's beaker things and made some juice for her while the kettle was boiling. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lauren running in.

"Careful baby, we don't want you falling over again do we?"

She shook her head while hugging my legs. I take it she wanted a hug so I picked her up and put her on my waist while making myself a cuppa.

"Daddy?" She started poking my face.

"Yes baby?"

"Can I make a cover and put it on YouTube?"

"We can do that later princess. You need to choose a song though. We might all do covers later for fun and you can do one with auntie Jess if you like?"

Lauren nodded so I gave her, her beaker thing of juice to drink to keep her quiet. I finished making my tea so I put Lauren down and followed her back into the living room where she ran with her juice to Jess.

"Auntie Jess?"

"That's me."

"Daddy said that I can make a YouTube cover later and then I want to do one with you. Then one with daddy and then one with all three of us."

"Did he? Well we can make one together for sure and you can do one by yourself but you have to ask daddy about the other two."

"Daddy?"

"Princess I'm sorry but I can't join in."

"Why?" She gave me puppy dog eyes which are adorable but I can't because of my throat.

"Daddy's throat is not in good condition right now princess and if I sing I'll make it worse."

She nodded and just cuddled into Jess more as she sulked. I hated seeing Lauren like that but we have to set down rules and it's for my own good. A good half hour past and by then me and Chloe decided that we need to go soon but now is the time we need to explain to Lauren that she's spending the day with Jess and my mum.

"Lau baby girl come sit with daddy and mummy for a minute."

She climbed off Jess and came over to us where I picked her up and sat her on my knee. Chloe played with Lauren's hands while I made her comfy.

"Daddy what do you want me for?"

"Would you be alright with grandma and auntie Jess for a while, while me and mummy go out for a while?"

"Where are you going?"

"We are off to see someone princess."

"Can I come?"

"Maybe next time but me and mummy need to see this person before anyone else." Lauren nodded and buried her head in me. I think she's upset that she has to stay here.

After a while I stood up and picked Lauren up and placed her with Jess while kissing both of their cheeks. Jess doesn't know where we are going either only Chloe and mum do.

"Bye mum we'll be back soon and if Lau needs anything just text me or look in her backpack." Mum nodded and I smiled before setting off with Chloe to see our other beautiful girl Star Renae. I wonder what her personality is like and what she likes etc. Whatever she does like, I'll be soon to find out. I really do hope we can have her join the family again soon. It'll be a lot better than her in a orphanage. We first went to Toys R Us to get a present which would be hard as we don't know what she likes at all. What do most girls like? Dolls? Creativity? I'm so bad at this. Chloe wasn't great at it either so we just picked up a doll and something creative as we didn't want to risk it. Anyway it's our daughter so we can spoil her.

We got back into the car and I could tell Chloe was nervous and I don't blame her. I mean come on we're meeting our daughter. I drove for about five minutes before Chloe blurted out "You know I don't think we should adopt her back in our family yet."
