What's Up Princess?

Chapter 19- Star Renae

I hugged Clo and she cried into my t-shirt. I rubbed her back trying to calm down.

"Daddy why is mummy crying?"

"She's crying because she doesn't like seeing us two hurt." I had to lie to make it better as I actually don't know why she's crying yet.

"We are getting better though!"

"Yeah I know princess, can you go and cuddle and be cuddly with Uncle Tom and Auntie Kelsey please baby? You can take them to show your room and everything you want to show them."

She nodded and got up going over to Tomsey, dragging them up. They all looked at me with a confused look but carried on walking out of the room. I stayed cuddling Clo for a while before pulling away and wiping her tears away.

"What's the matter babe?"

"Calendar... Kitchen..." She muffled

"What about it?"

"Tomorrow..." Her voice cracked.

I got up with Clo wrapped around me while I looked at the calendar in the kitchen. 12th August was tomorrow. What's on? I looked at the writing which said 'Star Renae's birthday' ohh now I get why she's crying. I had tears in my eyes myself. Our little girls birthday. I hugged Chloe tighter and kissed her cheek.

Your all probably wondering who Star Renae is? Yeah well she's mine and Chloe's other daughter who nobody knows about not even my family. Chloe's family know well her mum knows and that's about it. She'll be turning 9 tomorrow. Yes I was young when Chloe had her, in fact I was 11 and so was Clo so that's why we couldn't keep her. We were to young. Maybe just maybe we can take her back into our family if she's not adopted. That's right, Star is in care in Gloucestershire. I think she's doing well but I'm not sure.

"Would you like her to live with us?"

She nodded and hugged right into me.

"When Tom and Kels go shall we Skype your mum in bed?"

She nodded again.

"I miss her Nath, I really miss her. She's our daughter. The daughter I always wanted."

"I know babe, I know babe and we will try and get Star back. Your mum will know what to do."

We went back to the sofa and sat down as the other three came back downstairs. They all entered with Lauren first.

"Is mummy alright now?"

"She's good darling!"

Lauren came over and cuddled with us again. She's not this cuddly when she's not ill. It's now 7pm and soon will be Lau's bedtime but first she needs medicine if she wants to be well. Also we all need to pack for Gloucester. Shit.

"We need to go guys we're sorry..." Kelsey said.

"It's fine honestly all we are going to do is sort Lauren out for bed and pack for Gloucester while skyping people."

"Okay well we hope you all have a nice time and enjoy your time off Nath. Lauren get well soon and Clo stay strong girl! I'm here if you need to talk!"

"Thanks guys. Bye and we'll see you soon!"

They smiled and got their coats and shoes on before leaving. I sighed and carried Lauren who was getting sleepy I could tell up to her room with Chloe behind us. Next job is get our princess ready for bed and then pack her things. Her medicine was on her bedside table which we gave her before tucking her into bed. I then got her Blues Clues backpack out and filled that with her medicine, three pairs of pull ups (pants for toddlers), a colouring book and notebook with pens and pencils, sterilised milk like what babies have and finally her blanket with her name sewn on in black wool. That was only her backpack for on the way down there. Next was her actually bag which was a ladybug. In that I packed a weeks worth of clothes, three pairs of pyjamas, socks, more pull ups, a few of her teddies, toothbrush and her dressing gown. That's her done except chloe's baby bag which will have Lau's toddler bottles in, changing mat, a few toys including bath toys, her bed guard to attach to the bed and her shampoo and towel.
