Chapter 20- Gloucester Here We Come

I woke up the next morning at a ridiculous time in the morning but if we want to get to Gloucester in the morning I suppose we have to. I turned to my side to see Chloe but it was an empty spot. She's already awake? Really wow. I got up myself and got dressed into something comfy but presentable. This consisted of a pair of chinos preferably my black or beige ones but I suppose today my red ones will have to do. I also put on my 'game over' t-shirt on which I only had on the other day and one of my beanies.

I left my room and walked over to Lauren's room. I opened the door and she is there lying asleep as peaceful as she could be. I left the room leaving her asleep as I went downstairs to see my girl making me my morning cuppa.

"Morning gorgeous girl!"

"Morning handsome sloth. You ready for the drive to Gloucester?"

"Yeah. I'm not going to wake Lau up though because she'll be grouchy. And grouchy and ill don't mix very well."

"True just carry her to the car while she's asleep in her pyjamas and she'll wake up when she's ready."

I nodded and took my cup of tea out of her hand. I took in the warm refreshing liquid from my mug to my mouth, warming up my insides thoroughly. I need this tea to wake me up fully and so we don't crash. I quickly finished it and put the bags into the boot of the car except Lauren's Blues Clues backpack where it went in the front by Chloe's feet. Even though there will be duvet covers for all of us I'm still bringing Lauren's as she will be comfy in the car then and I don't know if she'll be able to depart from it.

I adventured back inside to my gorgeous girl giving her the kiss of her dreams. Kissing her felt like heaven every time. The salvia swapped is just perfect. I love her and she's just the perfect human ever existed literally. It was now half 7 and I thought it would be the best time to go. No traffic, it's just getting light and we'll get there just in time for breakfast and maybe by the time the Sykes' household wakes up.

"Baby you can go and wait in the car while I get Lauren if you want?"

"Thanks Nath I'll meet you there."

We smiled and kissed one more time before we went our separate ways which included me walking upstairs quietly and entering Lauren's bedroom. I walked over to her bed and picked her up while she's still wrapped like a mummy in her duvet and picked up her pillow. She was already holding her teddy so I didn't have to pick that up. I carried her out the house and into her car seat where I slowly unwrapped her duvet from her and placed her in the car seat. Doing up her seatbelt and wrapping the duvet around her, I slowly kissed her forehead which was still burning up then I put the pillow behind her head and shut the car door. I got in the car myself and put my seatbelt on.

I started the ignition and before we knew it we were well on our way to Gloucester. Gloucester is only two to three hours away but it doesn't matter it's home. Every few minutes me or Clo turn to see if Lauren is alright which normally she is. She's been sleeping for all the way so far. Meaning all the way I mean for the hour and half we've been driving. Just half hour to go and we'll be back at my parents.

"Clo, do you think Lau is alright?"

"Yeah she will be. She doesn't wake up until now anyway and then being ill makes you more tired so it wouldn't surprise me if she's not up until 10am."

"It's quiet without our baby girl being awake."

"Well if you say so! She's a quiet kid anyway."

I hummed in response. "When we get to my parents and she's not awake I'll put her on my bed in my bedroom and then when she wakes up we can show her, her room."
