"In slow motion
Can't seem to get where we're going
But the hard times are golden
Cause they all lead to better daysWe're gonna be alright"
-Ariana Grande, Be Alright
Today marks thirty days until I turn 19 and, compared to 18, I am hoping that it will be a more steady, less accident free year. However, instead of just hoping, I am also going to take action. As amazing and awesome life is, we all know how it feels to be down. To be in that rut; the dreaded "gray routine" that makes us feel stuck in our own daily happenings. Yeah, I've been there, it sucks.
So that is why I am here (I guess through the internet, not regarding propinquity) with you all today with a proposal. A challenge. A quest, perhaps. Over the next thirty days, I am going to try to spread love, positivity, and confidence. With the #AndrewsHappy30 challenge, I hope to fill the final days of my 18th year with encouragement, motivation, joy, and plenty of laughter. Each day will bring a new reason to be happy, a reason to wake up and strive for the best. A small ray of sunshine no matter the weather, a light no matter how dark it is, a boost no matter how fast or slow. Each day will show myself and everyone how awesome it is to be alive.
You see, all I ever want to do in my life is to create a legacy. I want to be an influence, a driving force through schools, communities and to those in my heart and around me. I want people to go through this quest with me and think "Hey, this is really helping. This made a difference." And that's exactly what I hope to do; I want to see the change, be the change, and spread the change.
I've known since I was a little boy that I was destined to change to world, and it's gonna happen one step at time. As I enter the senior year of being a teenager, I want to make it memorable. I want it to be a year unlike any other. I want to look back at this year and remember all the wonderful adventures, people, and things I did to make me a better person. I know I wasn't born to live an average life, and I'm not satisfied living one, either. So I'm making this another step in life to be where one step closer to living my dream life.
Catch my #AndrewsHappy30 challenge on Instagram @andrewsjournal, on Twitter @ulvandrewtweets, and see highlights on my other Instagram @radicalanduhrew and on Snapchat @anduhhreww. Yeah, the usernames are weird, but it shows that my life's interesting (and please accept that as a valid response). I will be tracking all I can and hopefully responding and sharing all I find within the hashtag. I hope for you to join me and to spread the word through the hashtag on Instagram and Twitter, and you can help make me make others, including ourselves, happy.
Go out and change the world with me!
