A starless night;
But manmade stars are seen.
With noise they begin their flight.
The end, in blue, red and green.
With every single one
My heart skips a beat;
Cause each and every one,
To the sky, they compete.
A smile on my face
When one ended in stardust.
But suddenly I remembered the case.
My smile flew away with the gust.
Fireworks I see,
With joy I watch this wonder;
But inside of me,
I only hear this thunder.
My family, my friends
Are feeling dread in this night.
Their life may end
In sadness, tears and fright.
Bombs are lighting up their sky;
Like earthquakes shaking their homes.
While my fireworks fly up high,
Their sight, filled with tears, drifts and roams.
Do I have to shout,
For everyone to hear this?!
Is humanity running out?!
Are you blind because you are in bliss?!
Still I believe, there's to come,
Hope, trust and love,
If we don't act so stupid and dumb
And with some mercy from above...

So it was new-years eve and people lit up fireworks. This wasn't common back were I came from. There were fireworks but small ones, or just those that could be played with on the ground. So it was my first time seeing big fireworks live.
Anyway I couldn't enjoy it to the fullest because I had to think about all the other people back in my "homeland" and what their reaction might be to those big fireworks.....
