I open my eyes to find myself in my room and I rise up to see if this was all a nightmare but unfortunately it wasn't. I had fainted and someone had brought me here. My whole body ached and I knew this was all real.
I couldn't believe what happened. I couldn't believe that in just a few minutes my parents would turn against me and treat me so cruelly. I cried loudly when I got reminded of how my dad hit me. I never thought he would do this... Why did I think he would trust me? Because he was my father? Is he actually even my father? Because a father's trust for his daughter doesn't end up like that.
I was so busy crying over what my Dad did that I forgot about that crazy bitch. This happened all because of her. And my head was hurting like hell of thinking why she would do this to me? What did she get from doing this? And what will she get from what was going to happen to me?
The words of my dad came into my head and made me tremble. The way he said he would kill me himself infront of everyone. And thats not something that he would jusy say. I knew he would do that. I knew most men could go to any extent in the name of their honor.
But the thing was that I didn't do anything wrong then why do I deserve all this? How could I just give in when it was not my fault at all? I wanted to fight for myself but I was scared, so scared because I didn't see any hope. They were not willing to listen or believe me. I didn't know what to do. I wanted to do something, anything to prove them wrong.
I got up even though my body hurt like hell and my mind was heavy. Just when I struggled to reach the door, I was stopped by someone.
"I am sorry...I have been strictly commanded not to let you go outside..."
"Khala....?" It's Haleema Khala. "Don't tell me...even you don't believe me too..."
"No beta! I believe you. I know you and you can never do something like that. It's sad to see that your parents can't know you well enough to believe you. I tried telling them that you are not at fault but they didn't listen to me and told me that this is none of my business..."she looks down with tears rolling down her eyes. "I guess a person like me has no right to stand up for someone...I am so sorry beta...for everything that happened....I do believe you and I am with you!"
"Then why won't you let me outside?" I ask her with teary eyes.
Her expressions change and she looks defeated. She is silent for a while and then gently makes me sit on my bed.
"Listen beta...your father...he talked to Hassan's family for your marriage and ofcourse he hasn't told them anything that your aunt said about you... and he didn't even show anger towards them. He faked his niceness very well and requested for this marriage....And they said yes...."
I wasn't shocked...I knew that when dad said he'd do something, he would make that happen. He very cleverly made them accept this...
"But...Khala...I don't want this marriage...this is unfair... I can't get married this way, knowing that it's a punishment for something I didn't even do..."
"Syra....listen to me. There is no way of disagreeing now. I know this is unfair but you know what will happen if you don't agree to this.... Beta just accept all this. God is watching. God will do justice and make these people pay for what they did. But now just be patient and accept this because right now this seems better than staying here with these ruthless people...."
"Khala no...I can't give in like this....this is not right....this is forceful ...I can't accept it... and even if I forget about what they did and marry Hassan to get out of here, I still can't do it. I can't marry Hassan....I hate him....I can never accept him...this is all crazy...I cant do this..." I hold my face in my hands and weep.
