"Hassan! Hassan please open your eyes!" I say anxiously and freak out.
Oh God what do I do!! I am all alone here... and Hassan, what happened to Hassan?! I was so scared and anxious I couldn't get into my senses for a while.
The moment I place my hand on his face I get my answer. He was having a high fever and must have lost conciousness. Immediately I thought of calling an ambulance.
I didn't even know how to call an ambulance here. I went straight to the telephone where there was a phone directory and I quickly started searching for emergency numbers.
Oh my God where the hell are the emergency numbers??!! I was freaking out. Suddenly I caught sight of something written, MI room (ambulance). Yes, finally found it! I quickly dial the number and tell them to send an ambulance.
In no time an ambulance appears and they take Hassan and me to the MI room (where they treat emergencies at this time).
I was by his side all the time and was seriously worried. They took him inside a room to check and I waited outside impatiently.
I kept praying he would be okay. What if something bad happened to him? What will I do then? I was so scared and going crazy with the anxiousness when suddenly I get snapped out of my thoughts by a senior lady doctor who was in her mid thirties.
"Mrs. Hassan, your husband has been suffering from high fever and we are keeping him on observation here. We will shift him to CMH tomorrow. Right now his condition is stable we have put him on medications. He still hasn't gained conciousness. But you dont have to worry, he will be alright after some time. It's good you brought him here on time or the condition could get worse."
"D-doctor...will he really be okay...?" I asked worriedly.
"Aww don't worry at all. I assure you he's okay and will be perfectly fine in no time!" She says politely and gently.
"Thank you so much doctor! Can I see him now?"
"Ofcourse you can! The staff will guide you to the room." She says in a kind tone.
She calls one of the staff members and I follow him to the room where they kept Hassan.
As the door opens I see Hassan lying on the hospital bed and a drip hanging on the stand is attached through his vein. He looked pale and was drenched in sweat. My heart sank. I can't believe he had so much fever and had fainted back at home. If I hadn't looked for my file that time I would have never known about his condition. I felt so bad.
And more than that, I felt so worried about him. It was so obvious that he would be in so much pain. I prayed he gained conciousness quick and would be okay. I pulled a chair next to his bed and stayed beside him all the time and waited for him to wake up.
I kept looking at him worried. I don't know how long I kept waiting but I saw him stir and wince in pain.
I get up and bend close to him.
"Hassan, are you okay?" I ask anxiously.
He breathes heavily and doesn't respond because he's in so much pain. I go out and ask the staff to come and observe him.
