Walking into the house twenty minutes later is surprisingly silent. No yelling, cooking, game systems, rambling, laughing, running, or talking can be heard. Suddenly i feel like a parent glad that i found a sitter to mind my kids. As i've said before, I love my boys but i'd love time away from them. They're all firecrackers that when around one another, explode at the same time.
I feel a cold hand touch my fingertips and take my bags from my hands, throwing them on the couch. Nash grabs my hand and leads me up the stairs.
"Where are the guys?" I ask him curiously. Usually they don't leave without telling anyone anything.
"They went out for a while. Probably on the beach... i don't know." He responds quickly and i find it odd. He knows but he won't tell me. Quickly, i forget about it. if he's being so nonchalant about it, it must not be too important.
We end up in front of the empty room he paints in everyday. I still have no clue what's going on in this room other than my knowledge from when he nearly blinded himself. I look at him oddly as he stands in front of the door looking at my shoes and biting his lip.
I don't know what comes over me but i touch his chin lightly with my finger tips bringing is face toward mine. "Nash...?" And now i've gotten his attention. He looks at me with those big blue eyes and i notice his pupils are have dilated to the size of saucers. "What's the matter?" I whisper to him.
I'm kind of worried to say the very least. He seems to be struggling with something right now and i have no idea with what. i wish i could read his mind. He grabs my hand from his face a puts it at my sides. He tells me it's nothing and i want to roll my eyes.
We sit in a moment of silence as i wait for him to overcome his overwhelming emotions. He sighs and looks up at me. I notice his hands are behind his back, holding onto the doorknob.
"Remember when i told you i'd show you what's in this room if i found a way to tell you something extremely important?" He finally speaks and i nod at his question instantly.
That was the day i was scared out of my ass that he wanted to leave but didn't know how to let me know.
"I realize that with what just happened at the mall, this probably isn't the best time to do this but," And after this he begins to ramble a little but i don't laugh i watch as his cheeks turn a light shade of rosemary and listen as his voice falters at some of his words.
I grab his arm and send a small giggle his way after 45 seconds of his endless rambling. He stops talking and looks up at me. i notice that this is one of the only times he doesn't have gum in his mouth. He probably spit it out during the car ride. But i'd bet money his breath still smells like he just brushed his teeth.
"Show me." I urge him and he smiles softly at me. Obliging. He must've known i would've been swept off my feet.
