It was just two weeks.

Kellin could handle it.

Except ... maybe not.

The day before spring break, Daniel went to the beach with his friends and unknowingly to Kellin, his dad had left for a business trip.

"Mom." Kellin said that night. "Where's dad?"

"He'll be home soon." She replied.

"Ok, but where did he go?"

"I don't know Kellin. He didn't say."

That night, Kellin had a nightmare.

Well it was more like he relived a childhood memory.

"I'm sick and tired of your shit Tabitha!" He had shouted.

"You're just mad that I'm making more money than you! That I'm successful!" She shouted back.

"Your neglect is the reason the boy is having difficult with anything in life!"

"He's only six!"

"Exactly! Six! Why does he have to see a therapist at six years old?"

"Greg, that is our son. We have to support him." She said tiredly. There were footsteps and then his mom asked, "Where are you going?"

"Out." His dad replied.

"Greg, if you walk out that door, don't you ever come back."

Kellin sat on the stairs as he watched his dad leave.

When he woke up, he was sweating.

Kellin grabbed his phone and pulled up Vic's number, letting his thumb hover over the green call button.

But then he put his phone back down.

Vic was sleeping and so should he.

It was one of the worst nights Kellin has ever had.
