WARNING: FEELS AHEAD. DON'T WANT TO BE SAD, DON'T READ.

Dary kicked over the stool he was once sitting on, anger pulsing through him. "Ya don't get it. You think you know everythin'!" He hollered.

"And this isn't 'bout you!" Rick hissed back through clenched teeth.

"Never said it was!" Daryl turned his back to Rick.

Rick let out an impatient sigh. "Daryl, you're gettin' too difficult."

And yer a terrible leader." Daryl mumbled.
Rick had had it. He got in the hunter's face spitting words of venom. "Tell me everythin' you are, Daryl. Just say it."

Daryl couldn't meet Rick's piecing blue eyes.

"Fucking pussy of a redneck. So much of a pussy that you don't even think right to do some good. We needed you. I needed you. Where were you?"

Daryl tried to fight the tears that were threatening his eyes.
"It ain't my fault!" Daryl screamed pushing Rick out of his face. "You've never said those things to anyone, so why fuckin' now!? Rick glared daggers at his friend. "Because people died. You ran off. You never cared." Daryl shook his head in frustration. Grabbing his crossbow, Daryl raced out the door, and rode off on his motorcycle.

The memory of the event that took place before still stabs Rick deep in the heart.
---------- Flashback
"Daryl, I need to talk to you." Carol said calmly. Daryl stared expectantly waiting for her words. Carol huffed and grabbed Daryl's wrist, dragging him out of the clearing. "So what'd ya ne-" Daryl's uncompleted sentence was intterupted by Carol's lips on his. Daryl didn't want this, but he was too shocked for actions. Tons of screams sounded loud and boisterous. Daryl's leader, Rick showed up on the spot. "We're bein' attacked. Hurry, now!" Rick hollered. Carol gave the man a stubborn look but pulled out her gun and ran into action.

Everything turned into blurs. Nothing more. It was left to Rick and Daryl. The stares going on and on. Not even a year could replace each and every second that was passing by. The moment of stained hope clocking Rick right in the jaw. The pair of eyes that stared at him endlessly. But he didn't even bother to read them. He couldn't because he knew he'd be wrong. Because then he knew that it was all his fault in the first place. If only he had fessed up sooner. If only... And there he was, staring at the man he truly cared about. The man he had wanted for as long as he could remember. But did he bother saying anything? No. It simply was just because he was too scared. As if he thought the moment of awkward silence would kill him, Daryl was gone. Just like that. He fucked up. Rick Grimes fucked up. But maybe there was a way to fix it.

Rick sat at the kitchen table. Why'd he say those things to Daryl? Why did he hurt him? Rick sighed staring at his broken watch. The skies were losing it's bright vibrant color to the dull dark shades of night. Running his hand through his curly black hair, the stressed man's shoulders slumped with the world's problems weighing on them. 'Keep going' 'Stay strong' 'We can build a new world'

BULLSHIT.

None of that's happening for anyone. No one's safe. Everyone's got that one word stabbed right through their foot keeping them from going anywhere.
"Death".

It's common nowadays. Too common. People die just about everyday. In that case, who needs to hold on to pointless words anyways? They just drag you right under, making your hopes stand up high only to be shot right down.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." The words escape from Rick's lips. He can't hit the stop button. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. It just keeps going. Tears of regret flood his eyes as the barrier breaks, spilling everything out before him. He loved Daryl, but loving was hard, even for him. He loved Lori for the brief period of time he had with her before she died, but after that and everything else, there was no getting his feelings back. Not even if he really wanted to. He didn't actually love Michonne, she was just a distraction for him.
