I ran across the face to be other side as Tamatoa beared down on the place I was just standing.
"Over here!" I shout, the echo reverberating off the walls. I lift my hands up and make a stupid face at Tamatoa, my fingers alight with flames.
He dashes across the cave faster than I anticipated, grabbing one of my arms in each of his massive pincers. I hold back a scream as he tugs on my arms experimentally.
Either he was going to rip my arms off, or he was going to tear my entire body in half.
( Something new, eh? )
Maui's POV
I heard Ayda shout at the crab and I stood up, grabbing my book carefully. I started to creep towards the exit, but looked back at the sound of Tamatoa's insane cackling.
He had Ayda, holding her with one of her arms in each of his claws. "Come out, Maui!" He taunted, "Or your little pet gets ripped in half!"
I turned slowly to face the crab, still in the dark. I couldn't use my hook. I was all out of ideas, so I put my fishook down, and stepped into the light.
"Now put her down!" I said, my eyebrows furrowing. He tugged on her arms sharply, and I heard a loud crack. "Ayda!" I cried. She didn't move.
And Tamatoa dropped her from thirty feet in the air.
