Maui swung the fishook down, making it glow bright blue with the spiritual markings that symbolized a giant hawk.

And instantly, he poofed into a fish. Maui froze, looking confused. He did another battle cry, turning into a variety of animals before getting stuck as a very confused Maui.

Tamatoa, who was previously cowering halfway under his sparkly shell, poked his head back up, spinning in a circle to throw Maui off, throwing golden sparkles off onto the walls.

I hid behind a rock as I slowly crept into the room, my hands just seconds away from bursting into flames. My fear for Maui fed my energy, making it easier.

Suddenly, Tamatoa grabbed Maui in a grip strog enough to break a mortal's spine. I watched in shock as he threw Maui into the wall, the fishook and the demigod falling to the floor in an explosion of dust.

Maui didn't move.

I screamed. "MAUI!" I leaped out from behind my hiding place.

"Hey crab legs! I got something for ya!" I shouted, putting both hands together and aiming a large fireball at Tamatoa's massive eyes.

He shrieked in rage as the fire burned his eyes, making him recoil.

I threw one hand forward and vines grew around his class in ropes, pinning them together. That wouldn't hold him long.

I raced over to Maui. "Get up get up!" I shouted, throwing the heavy fishook at him.

The cave suddenly went dark, and in the not so far distance we saw Tamatoa, bioluminescent in the shadows.

His charred eyes landed on our hiding spot. "Oh, look. Two little demigods to chew on!"

And he raced towards us.
