Ch. 15 Doubtful Heart

Evan's been acting weird again...

As class ended I walked beside him as we were heading to the library to research on some spells Mrs.Jill asked for us to research about over the weekend

I snap my fingers in front of his face which made him instantly turn to look at me with his brow quirked upwards "What?" He irritably said

"Want to hang out later?" I see the gears in his mind starting to work as he pondered for a moment still hesitant

"It's just going to be the four of us! Me and Eve planned for us to explore the nearby town" I added to convince him. He gave me a hesitant stare but nodded "Sure, but I really don't like walking all that much"

I stood on my toes and ruffled the top of his head to annoy him "Awwww! Poor lazy little Evan complaining" He scoffed at me and then quickly nudged my sides which sent me laughing into hysterics

"HAHA-STOP!-HAHAHA-EVAN NO!-HAHAHA" I quickly covered my sides to avoid any further nudging all the while glaring at the demon

"That'll teach you to mess with me" He gave me a smirk and then quickly went back to his stoic expression. I pouted in response and slowly approached the door to the library

As we reached the front of the door Evan suddenly stiffened as he peered through the small window

I raised a brow at him and he shook his head in response giving me a small reassuring smile that didn't convince me at all, but I let it slide because he really wasn't a guy who likes opening up to people

We entered the door, the cold air swiftly passing by us and sending chills up to my spine

The library was large as one would expect from a prestigious academy, even the tables seemed to made of some high quality wood that I probably couldn't pronounce. The shelves were filled with a variety of books from a 'Guide to Basic Spells' to 'History About the Forbidden Arts'

I stood there in awe "I didn't expect a Library to be this, erm this?" I fumbled over my words trying to think of a word to perfectly describe this place

"Marvelous?" A familiar voice behind me said

"Yeah! That's the word!" I turned around and saw Lucas there standing hands inside his pockets his eyes ever so slightly glancing towards Evan, who was fidgeting with his fingers nervously, his eyes averting Lucas'

I open my mouth to tell Lucas to go fuck off but quickly shut up as I thought of a great idea

Maybe this can help shake Evan out of his state

"Evan, I forgot Eve and I have an activity that we have to pass today" I quickly wave him off and start heading to the door until I felt Evan pull my wrist

I look at him and surely enough his eyes was a mixture of 'I'm going to fucking kill you' and 'Please don't leave me'

"What about the research Mrs.Jill told us to do?"

"It's a Friday! I can do it tomorrow!" I smiled at him and got away from his grasp as Lucas got closer to Evan

I bolt through the door earning a few stares from the other students passing by and a scolding from the Librarian in charge shouting at me to keep it down

My feet briskly take me to the Fields where I see the clubs starting their normal routine. I gasp for air as I lean onto a tree feeling slightly lightheaded from all the running I did

Never. running. again.

I slump down the tree. Evan will get over it, He needs to sort out his mess on his own like the big boy he is
