Ch.09 Acceptance

I stretched out my arms as I greeted Eve who was already getting ready "Goodmoooornniiinggg!" She replied with a cheeky grin "Mornin' Yuki!" she went back to whatever she was doing

I got up and started to get ready while Eve just waited for me sitting at the bed talking non-stop

As we reached the building we went our separate ways and went on my merry way to my classroom, I can't wait to tell Evan how Jassius looked at me for a split second

Jassius totally likes me

I snap out of my thoughts as I bump into the door that was supposed to open for me "Damned door" I mutter to myself I open it and see everyone else just lounging around, I scan the room and stop as I find Evan sitting there quietly to himself

Before I can bombard him with stories I told Eve, Anthony grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me faraway from Evan "Dude, what the hell?" I gave him a puzzled look. He put one of his fingers to my mouth motioning for me to shut up, I complied but still keeping up my questioning stare

"He's going through something and he won't tell me, he literally broke down in front of me last night and went out the bathroom as if nothing just happened" He quickly whispered to me while taking glances at Evan to make sure he wasn't listening

But that was the least of my worries Evan, awkward, sweet, not so little Evan was sad?

"Just yesterday he was grinning from ear to ear, sure the sudden homophobic behavior shocked him but it didn't really seem to bother him right?" I said a bit unsure

Anthony just shrugged "Hopefully things start to get better, I can literally feel the sadness in the dorm room even if I tried to console him he just wore a plastic smile saying that he was alright" He stared at Evan who was wearing that smile

This was not Evan

With the one week all four of us have spent with I can surely say this was not our Evan the awkward Evan the three of us grew to love

I walked past Anthony and went straight to Evan, blocking his view of the window. He flashed me that smile and greeted with too much joy "Hey Eve!" I scoffed at how disgusting he was right now

"Evan whats wrong" I saw his face waver for a second before he made his smile even more disgusting "I don't know what you're talking about Yuki" he chuckled

I held my hand high and swung down onto his face

Slap!

While the rest of the class stared at us he sat there touching his cheek "Don't make me ask a third time Evan, What's wrong?" His eyes glued to the floor "I-I cant explain it, just not now...please" He says in a tone that made me understand

"You better explain this to me later" I patted his back that was shaking uncontrollably

He's probably trying so hard not to cry

I looked at my classmate that was sitting right beside Evan "Move" was all I said to make him scramble away

I sat beside Evan and just patted his back as he finally let his emotions out

This was our Evan

As I was consoling Evan the person who had all the answers walked in casually as if nothing happened

I left Evan to deal with some business

I went up to Lucas who was taller than me nevertheless I stood my ground hoping to intimidate him in some way "What the fuck did you do to Evan?" I raised my voice intentionally to embarrass him in front of his friends. By then I felt everyone stare at us

The guilt that overcame his face gave it all away, he was the reason for this at least that was what I thought until Evan stepped in between us 

"Yuki stop he's not the reason" his hopeful blue eyes went over to Lucas' brown frightened ones "Well not most of it anyway" He placed his gaze onto me again hoping to convince me

"But you just said it Evan not most of it" I placed my hands onto his shoulders "Yuki I am the problem" tears were forming in his eyes

I deadpanned

"Yuki I- Just don't make this anymore than what this has to be" Evan pleaded his eyes

I let out a deep frustrated sigh "Your naivety will be the death of you, Rimonds" He gave me a reassuring smile "Greatest way to die in my opinion" I chuckled at his little 

The tension around the room lifted some if the laughter and constant hollering were anything to go by

Go Evan!

Not bad!

He actually seems nice!

Were one of the few things I heard from the crowd making Evan blush in embarrassment and content, the only one out of place was Ophelia who had a scowl on her face. But I paid her no mind because right now Evan was being accepted into society

I cannot believe this

Do they actually like me?

Was one of the many thoughts crossing my mind right now. Why? What was there to like about a guy who was scrawny,awkward and gullible

I tried my best to push those thoughts back in my head and focus on the fact that for the moment they truly are accepting me

As I was enjoying the moment I felt a tap on my shoulder I turn around and Lucas wrapped me in a tight hug, he whispers into my ear in a sensual manner "I'm sorry, trust me I regretted what I said last night. But believe me we are friends" He pulled back after patting my back and gave me what seemed like a genuine smile

I was a little disheartened at the word friend but I'm glad we aren't fighting anymore, there are just people who aren't for you I guess

"Okay class get in your seats" Mrs.Jill announced as she walked in with a smile that brightened up the room even more

As the class that was once hollering and screaming their fair share of oo's and aa's now grumbled to take their seats

"Okay class let's get to the first lesson which is casting" She held out her wand which was emitting a soft white glow as she whisked it around

For once I was genuinely happy for myself
