Tyler's POV

*monday morning*

I felt Josh's soft kiss on my lips and I awoke. I hugged him and told him I loved him. It was his first day of work and I am hella nervous for him. I don't know what it's going to be like to be alone.

Josh left.

The first thing I did was cry because this was the new reality. Yes, I'm happy for him, but it's going to take me a little bit of time to get used too.

I imagine he will feel the same way.

I made myself a bowl of cereal and ate it groggily. Once I finished I went and started to strum some ukulele chords. I started to play a random tune, but soon got bored.

I walked over to my piano and began to play a song I called ode to sleep.

"I wake up fine and dandy but then by the time I find it handy,
To rip my heart apart and start planning my crash landing,
I go up, up, up, up, up to the ceiling,
Then I feel my soul start leaving, like an old man's hair receding,
I'm pleading please, oh please on my knees repeatedly asking,
Why it's got to be like this. Is this living free?
I don't want to be the one, be the one who has the sun's blood on my hands,
I'll tell the moon, take this weapon forged in darkness,
Some see a pen, I see a harpoon.

I'll stay awake,
'Cause the dark's not taking prisoners tonight.

Why am I not scared in the morning?
I don't hear those voices calling,
I must have kicked them out, I must have kicked them out,
I swear I heard demons yelling,
Those crazy words they were spelling,
They told me I was gone, they told me I was gone.

But I'll tell them,
Why won't you let me go?
Do I threaten all your plans?
I'm insignificant.
Please tell them you have no plans for me.
I will set my soul on fire, what have I become?
I'll tell them.

On the eve of a day that's forgotten and fake,
And the trees they await and clouds anticipate,
The start of a day when we put on our face,
A mask that portrays that we don't need grace,
On the eve of a day that is bigger than us,
But we open our eyes 'cause we're told that we must,
And the trees wave their arms and the clouds try to plead,
Desperately yelling there's something we need,
I'm not free, I asked forgiveness three times,
Same amount that I denied, I three-time mvp'ed this crime,
I'm afraid to tell you who I adore, won't tell you who I'm singing towards,
Metaphorically I'm a whore, and that's denial number four.

I'll stay awake,
'Cause the dark's not taking prisoners tonight.

Why am I not scared in the morning?
I don't hear those voices calling,
I must have kicked them out, I must have kicked them out,
I swear I heard demons yelling,
Those crazy words they were spelling,
They told me I was gone, they told me I was gone.

But I'll tell them,
Why won't you let me go?
Do I threaten all your plans?
I'm insignificant,
Please tell them, you have no plans for me,
I will set my soul on fire, what have I become?
I'll tell them, you have no plans for me,
I will set my soul on fire,
What have I become?
I'll tell them,
I'll tell them,
I'll tell them,
I'll tell them,

Please tell them, you have no plans for me,
I will set my soul on fire, what have I become?
I'm sorry."

I liked it. Of course right now it was incomplete. It still needed drums and some electronic sounds. Other wise I liked it.

Josh's POV

I approached the store and took a deep breath. I was not letting anxiety control me today. It's time for me to control it.

I chose to wear black pants with a grey hoodie with a pair of vans. I walked in and greeted Melanie in the back. She smiled.

"Hey Josh, so today I want you to go see Jon."

I did as I said and went to Jon.

"Hey, uh, I'm Josh," I said.

"Oh, hey, I'm Jon. I'm helping train you. Honestly this job isn't that hard, but you still need a guide," he said laughing after.

I smiled and nodded at him.

He told me the computer log in and how to input items. He said when they open he will let me scan and help the first customer.

The first customer walked in and I greeted them.

"Hello, welcome to hot topic, if you need any assistance let me know," I said.

I thought I was doing okay.

The customer came around to pay and I typed in the code and they paid.

"Hey, you did great!" Jon told me.

Jon was very kind and nice.

I finished my day and work and left.
