First days of the new year (High School)

Maddie's POV

"Jacob!" I yell as he walks away with MY "friends".

"What!" He stops and turns around causing the whole group to stop. 

I run up to him, "Come with me. I don't want to do this here." He follows me towards the back of the school. Nobody is here before school so nobody can catch this on video because we've fought before and it has been posted on our school's rumor account. "We're done!"

"Why babe?" He says trying to grab my hands. 

"You are a fucking dirtbag. I hate myself for ever liking you and I hate myself even more because I dated you for 3 fucking years"

"Shh! Quiet down. The whole school doesn't need to hear this."

"The whole school does because I do not want to be associated with you any more. You've changed me so much and it's horrible. you've made me into a bully, someone that puts others people down so that they can feel higher. I don't like it and I don't like people being afraid, I'm done with you and all the other "fake friends" that i had."

"C'mon babe. Don't be like this."

"Stop calling me babe. Go find a new "babe" because i'm done with you!" I yell and run away so he can't say anything back. I run to Kenzie, I have no one else to go to because they are all friends with Jacob. WE were in the back of the school so it's really far to run. Kenzie was by her locker with her friends. I sat against the wall and put my head in my hands.

"Maddie? What's wrong?" Kenzie says sitting next to me on the ground. 

I wrap my arms around her, "Thank you."

"For?"

"I did it. I broke up with him. Thank you for helping me realize how bug of a douche he was."

"I'm proud of you, but don't you sit next to him in like all of your classes."

"I'll see how much of it I can handle. If anything happens i'll go to the teacher and ask to move my seat.

*BELL*

"I'll see you at lunch, okay?" I say.

"Yeah, see you then."

We walk our separate directions to our classes.

When I get to my class, Jacob isn't there yet. I sit at our table and move my seat the farthest it can be away from his as possible. I sit and start drawing in my notebook as homeroom starts. Jacob walks in right as the bell rings and sits at our desk. I don't even look at him. All I see is his friend Ethan look at me then at him. "Dude have you been crying or something. Your eyes are slightly red and you look upset."

"No, just tired dude. Been yawning a lot so my eyes are really watery."

"Maybe you should get some sleep at night."

"Boys be quiet. Listen to the announcements." The teacher says "Miss. Ziegler, maybe you could get your boyfriend and his friend to shut up." As he says this Jacob reaches his under the table and grabs mine. I pull from his grip and raise my hand, "Yes Miss. Ziegler."

"Mrs. Serding, may i please talk to you outside the classroom." She gestures for me to come and walks out of the classroom.

"how may I help you?"

"Can you please move my seat in homeroom, english, and history."

"What's the trouble?"

"I'm not dating Jacob, anymore at least. When you said boyfriend, he reached under the table and grabbed mine. I don't want to sit next to him anymore, it's just going to drive me crazy." Mrs.Serding was my favorite teacher. She and my mom are close friends so she use to come over when Mom and Greg would actually be home. She came over a lot when me and Jacob started dating which is how she knows. Sometimes she'll stop by and drop stuff off for me and Kenz because she know my mom is never home. She is like a mom to me, at least more than my mom at the time.

"I understand, who would you like to sit next to."

I try thinking of who is across the room and I remember that Kalani sits there and no one sits next to her. 2 seats down from her is Gavin, one of the shy and nice guys. "Kalani, if I could."

"Ok, no problem . I'll move you in between Kalani and Gavin in all 3 classes. Go ahead and move now."

"Thank You." I say giving her a hug.

"No problem Kiddo." I walk back in the class and everyone is looking at me. Their eyes follow me all the way to my seat. I put my stuff away and take it next to Kalani.

Everyone starts going "Ooooooh." One kid even yells, "Looks like there's trouble in paradise."

"Everyone quiet!" Mrs. Serding yells.

"Hi Kalani." i whisper to her.

"What did you do?"

"I broke up with him."

"Finally" She almost yells but i cover her mouth as soon as I here the high volume. "Sorry." She whispers.
