First days of the new year (High School)

"No get away from me. I don't care what you have to say."

"C'mon babe, I've changed I promise."

"Don't call me babe and clearly you haven't Jacob!" Maddie says and then starts running away

"Geez Jacob. We thought we were done with you. Maybe if you stopped being a fucking bitch she would take you back." I say and run after Maddie. "Maddie!" She turns and keeps running.

I turn around. No one is following. They know that she neeads her space. they know that the only person she needs is me. She keeps running towards the 10th grade building. I've only been in here once at the very beginning of school. Eventually she stop running in front of one classroom.

"Kenz. I can't handle it. Talking to Jacob made the good memories come back. I know he was a bad person and I don't want to hear what he has to say, but I still love him. I still do and I hate that." She says hugging me and crying.

"It's ok Maddie. I get it."

She comes out of the hug and knocks on the door.

"Who's class is this Mad?"

"Mrs. Serding"

"Wait, for real?"

"Yeah."

"It's been awhile since i've seen her. I've missed her so much."

"Hello girls. Mackenzie it's been a while."

"Yeah it's nice to see you Mrs.Serding."

"Maddie what's wrong? Come in."

We walk in and sit at one of the tables. "It's Jacob."

"It's been a few weeks since your guys' breakup hasn't it?"

"Yeah, but i still do love him. But i know he was a bad person, but he wasn't bad to me. He was a really good boyfriend and we have really good memories together. It's just i know he changed me, but I know how to stop it if it happens again."

"Why are you crying sweetie?"

"He came up to me like 5 minutes ago. He tried to get me to take him back. When he came up, all the memories came back to me. It made me miss him. It made me want him back, but i know it's not good to be with him."

"Well, i cant tell you not to be with him or to be with him, but i do notice things. He definitely misses you. I was there when you broke up with him. You did it behind my classroom. I didn't want to say anything, but after you left, he broke down. He fell to the ground and cried. I saw him playing with a bracelet on his wrist."

"I made that for him a couple of years ago. I didn't think he still had it."

"Well he has been wearing it every day for the last few weeks. He always plays with it in class. He always looks your way. He is depressed. Every day he has come and eaten lunch right back there. Away from everyone. Except today. Today he didn't come. I'm assuming that is was so he could talk to you."

"So he does really want you back Maddie. It seems that he has changed. He left all of his friends. He goes to the spot that you broke up with him at every day. He still loves you." I tell her.

"Does he really do that?"

"Yes, he does."
