First days of the new year (High School)

Lauren's POV

"I'm sorry Lauren, but I can't do this anymore"

"What do you mean? I thought we were both happy, I thought we were alright"

"Sorry, there's another girl that I like, and I know that if I can't give you all of my heart than why give you any just to hurt you"

"Fine whatever"

"Can we still be friends?"

"We'll find out later. Right now, I don't know" I walk away. I decide not to get on the bus to go home, I'm just going to walk home since we're on the same bus. I don't want to have to see him again.

"Lauren! wait up!" I hear Mackenzie call for me

I stop and turn around. I bet she can tell I'm sad. She's my best friend, of course she can tell.

"What's wrong? Why are you sad? Did Hayden do something? I'm gonna kill that kid."

"Wait how do you know about Hayden and I? Or i guess what we used to be..."

"It was super obvious. Let's get on the bus, and we don't have to talk to Hayden or anything. Ok?"

"I guess."

We start walking to the bus and get on right before we leave. I don't see Maddie, but I do see some of the other girls. We go and sit in the middle of their group. 

"Hey girls."Mackenzie says

I saw Hayden walking in, but i didn't make eye contact with him. I didn't feel like crying and I know that it would make me cry. 

"Nice of Laur to join us for once and not be with her boyfriend."

I look back to where Hayden was sitting, he was looking at me "Ex boyfriend" I correct her as soon as we make eye contact and I turn around. 

"Oh lauren I'm so sorry, I had no idea."

"Yeah because nobody fully knew about us dating either. It was all just assumptions because I didn't tell anyone. I fine though. I don't need you to try to sympathize with me. I'll be ok."

----earlier that day-----

Maddie's POV

I'm gonna try to talk with Jacob today, right now, lunch. I go to my locker and get my food, and then I walk to the spot, our spot, the one I broke up with him at, the one that we first kissed at. He's there, He is sitting there against the building. I stop at the edge of the building, Do I really want to do this?, Yes. 

I start walking closer, "Jacob?" his head shoots up

"Maddie?" He stands up and walks up to me

"Hi" I say and hug him, wrapping my arms around his neck. I missed this, I missed him. 

He wrapped his arms around my waist, hugging me back, "How'd you find me?"

"A friend told me that you come and eat lunch here everyday. You sit in our spot everyday."

"I missed you i guess"

"You kept it?"

"Kept what?"

I lift up his wrist and reveal the bracelet that I made him. "I made this for you like 3 years ago"

"Why would I lose it? It's special to me cause you made it. Everything you give to me is special." I smile, he really is genuinely sweet once you get to know him, "Maddie, I still love you"

"Can we talk after school?"

"Yeah, meet me here, I have a friend that can give us a ride home instead of taking the bus."

"Ok. I'll see you then J." He nods as I start to walk away and he sits back on the floor. I'm about to turn the corner and I turn around and yell, "Love you too" I smile instantly grows on his face as he looks up at me and then I keep walking to my sister and our friends.

I can't believe that I just told him that I love him still. It's true, but I said it. For the first time in a month, I told Jacob that I loved him. After school is going to be crazy.
