I woke up and realized that it was Monday, sadly. I rubbed my eyes and got up. Mel had got up just a few minutes prior. I stretched and yawned. Then, I walked over to my dresser and pulled out my Adidas shirt and slipped it on. While the dresser was open, I grabbed my P!ATD shirt and black jeans. I walked over and opened the door, proceeding towards the kitchen where breakfast would be served.

In the kitchen, Mel was facing away from me, sitting at the kitchen island. She was swinging her legs back and forth, while talking to her mother, who was making breakfast for us. My feet slapped against the vinyl floor as I walked over to the island. Mel heard me, so she turned around and said, "Morning Levi!"

"Morning to you as well, sis." I replied back to her. I also said good morning to her mother. I sat down on the bar stool next to Mel. Mel's mother then handed me a glass of milk, I thanked her and took a sip of it. After I sat the glass down, I heard Mel giggle some reaon. So I asked her, rasing my eyebrow, "What's so funny?"

She had to stop giggling before she answered me, "You have a milk moustache." So, that's why she was laughing. She hopped up and grabbed a paper towel and wiped the milk off my upper lip. I thanked her and she said, "It's no biggie, bro." I rolled my eyes and she hugged me instead of slapping my arm, which was surprising.

Suddenly, her mom announces that breakfast is ready. She serves us both plates filled up with scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits. We both thanked her in unison as we dug into the glorious food in-front of us.

Once we were stuffed, Mel and I headed upstairs to get ready for school. I closed the door and began to put on my shirt and jeans I had set out. My backpack was slung against the wall and I remembered I had left my personal hygiene items in there because I didn't know where to put them yesterday. So, I grabbed my hair gel, toothbrush, and my toothpaste. I didn't know where the bathroom was, so I went over to Mel's room and knocked on the door. She opened the door just enough to where I could see her face. I asked her, "Sis, where's the bathroom? I forgot where it was."

She explained it to me, "Okay, so down this hall, then it should be the first door on your right. Got it?" I nodded and she closed the door again. I walked cautiously down the hallway, then I opened the door to my right, praying that that was the bathroom door. I was correct, luckily. The lights were off , so I flipped the switch and the lights flickered to life. I sat my things down on the counter. I grabbed my toothbrush and turned on the faucet, grabbed my toothpaste and brushed my teeth. After I finished brushing my teeth and rinsing my mouth out, I grabbed my hair gel and styled my hair. I took extra time doing this because today was the day, I was going to talk to Jack and try to get together. I finshed combing and styling my hair and walked out of the bathroom, back towards my room. I was looking down at the ground, causing me to accidently run into Mel. I said sorry and she just brushed it off and continued walking the opposite direction. I reached my room and entered. I was on one mission, to retrieve my backpack. Well, mission acomplished. Still in my room, I put on my socks and my shoes and ran downstairs, not wanting to be late for the bus. I saw that Mel had just finished puting on her boots, so I went in-front of her and held the door open for her and closed the door once she walked outside. We walked and talked, heading towards the bus stop. The stop wasn't far away, we reached it and sat down on the bench near it, waiting for the bus to come chugging up the hill to Mel's house.

I followed behind Mel as she ran up the stairs on the bus. I knew where she was going to sit, so I looked around to see if I could find anyone I knew to sit with. That's when I saw him. There he was, Jack Ethan Lockeland, sitting right there. I knew this would be a good opportunity to sit with him and talk about maybe getting together. I sat down beside him cautiously, Jack turned his head quickly torwards me. His face brightened immediately, which gave me a burst of hope. I smiled widely at him and Jack did too. Jack spoke first, "Hey Levi!" Then, he stopped being happy and asked me a serious question, "Oh, I forgot. Are you still okay from what happened last night?" Images briefly popped in my head, reminding me of what my father did.
