A Week Later (Don't Play Music Until I Say So)
I got up and picked out my outfit.(Pic. Above) The school had a pretty lax dress code so, it allowed all the girls to wear really cute outfits to school and not break the dress code. My parents were still asleep so I crept downstairs and began to make myself some breakfast. I opened the cabinet and grabbed some banana oatmeal, put water in it and cooked it in our microwave. When I pulled it out it was steaming hot so, I put some milk in it to cool it down. After that I poured me a glass of milk and sat down at the island in the kitchen and chowed down on my breakfast. I crept back upstairs and grabbed my backpack and my purse and proceeded down the stairs again. I stopped real quick to text my mother that I was leaving the house, I sent the text and I slid open the door and stepped outside. I turned around and gently closed the door and jogged down to the bus stop and waited for the bus to arrive.
The bus dropped us off at school and I was super pumped because today the school was hosting a lunch karaoke and I had entered into it, hoping I would get a chance to sing in front of the 9th grade in the cafeteria. I chose the song "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran (Up above). When I heard the song, I immediately fell in love and began to learn the lyrics. I turned around when I heard someone shout my name. Someone calls my name again and I finally saw who said it, Levi. He was wearing a forest green shirt and dark blue jeans carrying his books. I opened the gym doors and he followed behind me, we sat down on the first row and talked and talked until the bell rang for 1st.
Mrs. Anne gave us a test to see what we know so far, I felt pretty good about it because I had always been good in reading. This girl beside me was trying to look at my paper, so I had to move my arm in an awkward position so she couldn't see my test answers. Mrs. Anne suddenly says, "Test ends in 15 minutes! Make sure you get it done!" I panicked a little because I had about 20-ish questions left on the test, even though we started like 30 minutes ago. The timer on her phone went off and she told us, "Pencils down, tests in the air!" I had just finished shading in my last question bubble and I set my pencil down and held my test in the air. Mrs. Anne moved swiftly throughout the classroom, picking up tests as she went to her desk in the back of the room. I sighed and lifted my bag, placing it on my shoulder. And as I suspected, the bell rang right at 9:30 and we were dismissed from Mrs. Anne's class.
I walked very quickly to my 2nd block, excited to see Levi. I pushed open the wooden door and Mr. Grove said in a gruff voice, "You all need to sit down and be quiet!" I cringed at the sound of his voice and walked over to my seat and sat my stuff down and he began talking the world away. He passed out the algebraic worksheets and went to sit down at his desk, I reached into a pocket in my bag and pulled out my pink and yellow calculator and a pencil and got to work. Several minutes later I pushed back my chair and stood up, no one else was finished, I was very surprised. I laid the paper on his desk and began to ask him my question, "Excuse me, Mr. Grove, but may I please move my seat to sit beside that boy named Levi Abercrombie, he was my old middle-school friend and I would like to sit next to him. If you don't mind."
Mr. Grove turned towards me and sighed, "I guess so, why not. At least you're a lot nicer than these heathens in here, excluding your friend. There, go move your stuff. Have a nice day." I grabbed my bag and rushed over to the opposite side of the room and sat down beside Levi.
He turned towards me and said in a hushed whisper, "OMG Mel, why are you sitting over here?"
I smiled and replied, "Because, I was lonely and wanted to sit by my old best friend."
