Chapter 10
*****
Remi's POV
The car ride back to my house with Landyn was quiet for a while. I felt so truly awful for not believing him about the whole Tanner and Suri situation.
"I'm sorry," I suddenly said, sighing.
"For what?"
"For not believing you," I replied, fidgeting with my hands. "For taking Tanner's side."
"I wouldn't believe me either," he said. "But now you know. Tanner isn't all he's made up to be."
"You could say that again," I said. "I really thought he was my best friend. I thought he was good. What kind of best friend sleeps with your sister?"
"I always knew he was a douche," Landyn said. "Who do you think gave him that black eye?"
I looked over at Landyn surprisedly, "You did?"
He nodded and a small smirk appeared, "Yeah, dude deserved it. Saw him kissing up on my girl at a party we went to last weekend. He knew she was with me."
I shook my head in disgust, "Ugh my view of him just gets worse and worse now. I keep wishing I'd get a call from Bella or something saying that this was all a big joke, saying that she was maybe too drunk and said some things that weren't true. A call from Tanner saying that he never slept with Suri or Bella. Anything," I said stressfully. "Him denying it instead of flat out basically admitting it would even help."
"None of that's gonna happen doll," Landyn said. "Unfortunately this night was very real."
I nodded, "Unfortunately."
We finally arrived at my house and Landyn got out of the car, quickly making his way over to my side and opening the door for me.
I got out and smiled at him, "Thank you."
We got in the door then and went up to my room.
"Thank you for everything you've done for me tonight," I said quietly. "I appreciate it more than you know."
He took a few steps closer to me and then stood directly in front of me, his hands in his pockets as his blue eyes looked down into mine.
"You don't have to thank me."
"I do," I replied, "I really do. I'm so sorry again for not believing you. I was totally wrong about Tanner."
"Are you gonna be okay?" he asked.
I nodded slowly, "I'll manage."
"If you need anything through the night or tomorrow even, text me. Call me. I don't care if it's at 3 am," he said, and I smiled.
Landyn was actually sweet. He was a complete douche at first, but now he was growing on me. I liked this side of Landyn.
"Thanks Landyn, I really don't know what I would have done without you tonight."
