*****

After getting home from school, I immediately put my bags in my room and then walked back outside to my car. I think I needed a drive.

I didn't exactly know where I wanted to go, I just needed to be out of the house. I didn't want to sit there alone.

I drove for several minutes, which eventually turned into an hour. I finally came across a dirt road and took the turn, driving into it. I parked and got out of my car, walking down a small steep hill and getting to a body of water. It was a quiet little area, possibly the most peaceful and private place I knew in Beverly Hills. I sat down on a large rock and took a deep breath in, looking over the river water.

This was where me and Tanner always hung out as kids. It was a place of tranquility for me, where I could come to be by myself and just think. It was my happy place.

I smiled standing up, taking off my shirt and shorts and the rest of my clothes. I slowly walked into the water, feeling the coolness wrap around my warm skin.

I laid back and closed my eyes, slightly floating. This was so relaxing.

It didn't matter if I was completely naked; this place was literally so private, no one even knew of it probably. Just a little secluded space that Tanner showed me a long time ago.

After a while of just swimming around by myself, the sky started to dim a little and I realized I had been in here for longer than I intended. I got out and aired off a little, getting dressed and heading up to my car.

I saw my phone lit up on the passenger seat where I had left it and opened the door, getting in. I picked up my phone and saw 24 missed calls from my mother.

'Where are you?'

'Hello?'

'Remi'

'I'm starting to get worried, call me as soon as you receive my messages.'

And a whole bunch more. I rolled my eyes and sent her a quick text that I was fine and on my way home.

As soon as I got into the door, my mom was right in front of me.

"Where have you been?" she shouted. "I was worried sick!"

"Calm down," I muttered, walking towards the stairs.

"Why is your hair all wet and stuff?" she asked, coming over to touch my damped clothes and hair.

"I went swimming," I sighed. "Now can I go upstairs?"

"Remi I was so worried all night, you could have at least told me what you were doing or where you would be," she put her hand on her chest over her heart. "I thought I was going to have a heart attack."

"Well you need to take a chill pill," I chuckled, putting my hand on her shoulder. "I'm fine, I just needed some alone time for the night."

She nodded and then gave me a tight hug, "Don't ever let me worry like that again please. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"I won't, sorry ma." I pulled away and smiled at her.

"Are you okay?" she asked, "Do you want to talk about anything?"
