Percy P.O.V
I was running out of the Chase out. Tears were coming out from my eyes. I don't know why.
"Percy!! hold up!!" I heard Thalia screaming from behind. Should I stop? should I let her catch up? "no!" the other side of my mind responded. I beat down my tears and kept running. I ran into a market which is full of people. I tried to find a place to hide. hoping Thalia will not find me. I hide behind shelf. when I saw Thalia past by, I was relief that she didn't saw me.
"Whoa.. that girl really can run." When I was ready to walk out, someone tapped me from behind. "looking for me?" I jump for a second and turn around. Thalia was right behind me smiling.
"You're bad in hiding, you know that right?" Thalia saying with a smirk on her face.
"Nope. it's just that your good in searching doesn't mean I'm bad in hiding. so what do you want?" I raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
"I want to know why are you looking so scared when we offer to drop you home" Thalia walked closer to me as if she's afraid that I will run away again.
"None of your business." When I turn around and was heading to the door, the Chase family was already standing at the door looking for us.
"Daddy! Percy's right there!" annabeth shouted and point towards my direction.
"Gods!" I muttered. There was no place I can hide. So, I did the original thing, I walk up to them. my eyes kept looking at my shoe.
"Percy, what's wrong?" Layla ask in a concern voice. I don't know what should I tell them, should I tell them about Gabe? Will they believe me? "percy, what's wrong? You look like you are going to be sick." Annabeth said while attempt to reach for my hand.
"I ran away from home" still looking at my shoe, afraid they will send me back to Gabe.
"Why" annabeth asked with a look of confused.
"Because I don't like them" still avoiding their gaze.
There was a moment of silent.
"How about you stay with us until we know the story where you get those cuts and where you're from" Mr.Chase breaking silence.
I was shocked and confused when I heard what Mr.Chase said, but mostly I was happy. At least I don't need to go back to Gabe, just yet. "Uh....." I gave my smartest answer.
"Come on percy, we won't hurt you" Thalia drag me out the market and down the streets.
