The three of us were still watching Finding Nemo when suddenly something growl "GRRRRR...." I bolted straight up immediately. It sounds just like those monsters that hide under your bed every night. I turned 360 degrees slowly and scan the whole living room, but there were just me, Annabeth and Thalia. Where does the sound came from? Suddenly, the girls started to laugh very hard. What are they laughing at? I raised an eyebrow at them, waiting for an explanation.

"You're really a Seaweed Brain!!" Annabeth manage to choke out between her laugh. "Seaweed Brain?" Now, it's just like I'm from outer space, not even understanding a word they said nor what they laugh at. "It's your stomach, Percy!" Thalia said while rolling on the ground and laughing her head off. What's so funny about my stomach? I look at my own stomach and thinking what's wrong with it. Suddenly there was another growl. Now it make sense. I thought. The growl was from my stomach. The girls were laughing at me. I felt my face redden.

"Why do you call me a Seaweed Brain?" I asked them, trying to change the subject. "Your brain doesn't function really well. You looked frightened when you heard the noise but you didn't realize it was your own stomach." Annabeth explained as she tried to hold back her laughter.

My blush deepens as I become a laughing stock in front of the two girls. I was hungry, like always. But you can't blame me!! I'm a growing boy! Besides, the smell from the kitchen was too relish! "What are you kids laughing at?" My mom asked as she walked into the living room. Annabeth and Thalia told my mom what happened. I was sure that I was fuming by then. My mom just chuckle and ruffle my hair.

The door opened suddenly and Frederick walked in. "What are you guys laughing at? I can hear you guys from the driveway."

"Daddy!!" Annabeth ran to her father. Frederick hold Annabeth up and spin her in mid air. "Dinners ready!" Layla shouts from the kitchen.

We went into the kitchen and when we were about to sit down, "Kids, wash your hands before dinner." my mom ordered. The three of us pouted and quickly went to the sink to wash our hands. Frederick chuckle as he look at our baby faces. "That means you too, Frederick." Layla said. All of us laugh at Frederick as he pout too.

As all of us are already at the table, we started to dig in. We had pizza for dinner today! I quickly finish the pizza on my plate and ask for more. "Eat slowly. You'll get choke if you eat too fast" my mom advice me as she put another piece of pizza on my plate. "But it's too delicious!" I said while my mouth was still full. Everyone was now laughing at me. "Which kind of food doesn't taste delicious to you?" Annabeth asked, which make everyone laugh even harder.

Although everyone was laughing at me this time, but I didn't feel embarrassed. I felt happy. I had my mom and friends who really cared about me. I'm not a loner anymore.

After dinner, Frederick offered us a ride to school since my mom's car is still at school. I keep my things from Annabeth's room and headed downstairs. Thalia was going to have a sleepover at Annabeth's house so they went upstairs after dinner. I didn't even had a chance to say goodbye to them nor greet them good night because they were talking in Annabeth's room and completely ignored my presence.

"Percy, I love you" I heard my mom whispered in my ear and kissed my forehead. I opened my eyes and realized I'm at a different place, probably just my mom's apartment. My mom had carried me to a bed. "Mom..." I get up and hugged her. I love her so much. I'll never be tired of her embrace.

"Percy? Tonight we are going to sleep together, then tomorrow after school, we are going to shop a new bed for you, okay?" She pulled back, moved my hair from covering my eyes with her right hand and looked into my eyes. I just nodded and smile at her. "Maybe you can get a new haircut too!" she chuckle a little. I just smiled and hugged her again.

"Now lay down and get some sleep." She pulled back and pulled the cover as I lay down. "What about you? Aren't you going to sleep with me?" I asked curiously, wanting to know where is she going. "Yes. But I have to change into my pajamas first" she chuckle again. I blushed a little as I didn't even realized my mom had already change me into my pajamas. "I promise I'll be right back. You'll sleep first, okay?" my mom kissed my forehead and headed to her wardrobe. The next thing I knew, I had already drift off to sleep.

Next day, I waited Thalia and Annabeth at the front door. I was really happy today because I'm going shopping with my mom after school. My mom had made pancakes for me this morning. I'll tell you this but you have to swear on the river of styx not to tell anyone first!! My mom's pancakes are the most delicious in the world! And yes! I mean they are better than Layla's pancakes. Not that I'm complaining, but they really are awesome! If my mom doesn't want to be a teacher someday, maybe she could consider being a chef and open her own restaurant.

"Earth to Percy!!" I was snapped out of my thoughts when Thalia called me. Gods.. Now they'll think that I'm crazy. I'm sure that I was grinning like crazy just now. "Are you mad, Percy?" Annabeth asked. Here it goes..

Today was the first time I really pay attention in English class, all because of my mom. And when I mean English class, I really mean English class ONLY. The rest of the day went blur, I wasn't really paying attention because I was really excited later after school. First time shopping with my mom. I thought.

Time went by really fast. I was waiting my mom with Annabeth and Thalia at the front door. Actually they were waiting for Layla to fetch them today.

A smile plastered on my face as I saw my mom coming towards us. But there was something wrong. She didn't looked happy. Her facial expression was very serious and full of worried.

"Hi Percy, how was your day?" she knelt down and hugged me. "Good" I just reply but I was really worried about my mom. "Come on kids, I'll fetch you home." she told Annabeth and Thalia as she pulled back from me.

"But I thought you said we were going shopping?"

"There is no need for that anymore. Let's go. I'll announce the important news once we arrived at Annabeth's house."

My mom called Layla and inform her that she was fetching us home. After parking at the driveway, I could see Layla standing at the door greeting us. We went to the living room and waited for the important news. I could see that my mom was nervous. After she had calm down, she told us the news.

I was surprised, and at the same time, I was sad.
