Percy P.O.V
It has been six years since we moved to San Francisco. I'm 13 years old right now. I'm now living with my mom in an small apartment. Although it's small but we had our own rooms and another room is my mom's office. Well, back to the reason why we left New York. Six years ago, my mom got transferred here to teach a special school. But my mom ended up to be a writer. Why we didn't move back? Her career was very stable when she started here, so we continue to stay in San Francisco. She became a famous writer after she had published a book. Well I can only say that the book was about how me and my mom got reunited.
*******************Flashback*******************
Six years ago, before leaving New York.
"Just stay safe, Percy." my mom told me. "Yes mom" I replied and started to walk away with Annabeth. Actually we were on a picnic with Annabeth's family at the park, my mom decided that we should gathered around before we leave. I had invited Thalia but she say she couldn't make it, she was busy that day. So, now it's only me and Annabeth. We decided to take a walk.
"So... how it's going?" she asked nervously as she put her hair behind her ear. She had tied her hair into a high ponytail but there was still some of her hair falling to her face. She was so cute and beautiful. Her grey eyes were so attractive that I can stare at it all day and wouldn't get tired of it. "Percy?" I was snapped out of my thought when Annabeth waved her hand in front of me.
"Oh... Uhhh.. What was your question?" I quickly look away when I realized I was staring at her. "Nothing" she sighed.
"What did your mother told you that day that make you change your mind to watch Finding Nemo with us?" she asked after a few seconds of silence. I started to blush when I flashback on that day. "She told me to be a gentleman and let you girls choose the movie." I explained. She just nodded and avoiding my gaze, but I can see that she is thinking something really hard.
"So, I'll send letters to you after I reached San Francisco." I said casually, but actually deep inside, I wanted to call her everyday. I was going to miss her. "Yeah.. I'll miss you" she murmured in a low voice, especially the last part. If I hadn't pay much attention, I could have missed it. "What?" I asked her, I like to fool around with her, especially when she is nervous.
"Yeah. I'll send you letters too." she said a bit louder this time. She's so cute when she is nervous. I couldn't resist it anymore, "I'll miss you too" I blurted out as I pulled her into a tight hug. She was shocked at first, but she hug back in the end.
When I pulled back, I saw tears streaming down her face. "Hey, don't cry. It's not like I'm leaving forever." I wiped away the tears with my fingers. If you're wondering how I sounded like a grown up. Well, I don't know myself, I just blurt it out. "I'll visit you, okay?" She just nodded and started to wipe off her tears. "Let's go for a walk" she requested. I gladly took her hand and started to tell her some jokes.
After a small walk, we went back to our picnic area. I could still see sadness in her eyes. But I couldn't do anything. I just gave her a smile when she looked at me.
********************End of Flashback******************
When we arrived at San Francisco five years ago, I immediately wrote a letter to Annabeth. I get a letter back from her after a few days. I was really excited to go back home after school everyday, hoping there is a letter for me.
But I don't know since when, I'm not excited anymore. She didn't write back to me anymore. I was worried. Is she okay? Did anything happened to her? I asked myself everyday. Sometimes I couldn't even fall asleep at night. I got up and went to the windows, started to count the constellations that Annabeth had taught me until I drift off to sleep.
And for your information, my mom is dating Paul right now. Yes! It's him. The Paul who helped my mom when she lost me. She meet him again in the mall, when she was publishing her new story. So, now they are together, but Paul still lives in New York. He teaches at this Goode High School. So it's a long distance relationship. Conclusion, I'm really happy for my mom, at least she found love again.
About me? Well, it's nothing special. I just hope I'll see Annabeth again. I really miss her so much...
