New family-part 2

Percy P.O.V

After we arrive at the Chase house, Mrs.Chase asked me to take a shower because she said "Um... Percy, would you like to take a shower? because you smell like you live in a rubbish dump a whole week" with that, annabeth and Thalia kept laughing at me.Mrs.Chase also offered to wash my clothes so that I don't need to wear annabeth's pajamas for the night.

After I took a hot bath, all of us sat at the living room, they then started to ask me a lot of questions. At first, I was reluctant to tell them the story about my 'family', but they treated me so nice that make me felt like home for the first time. So, I told them everything including how I got those cuts. Mr. and Mrs.Chase including Annabeth and Thalia was shocked at first, then they looked at me pityfully.

After dinner, Mr.Chase offered Thalia a ride to go back to her orphanage while the rest of us sat at the living room watching TV. Annabeth was tired so she went to her room early. After Mr.Chase came back, he offered me to sleep in Annabeth's room as there is an extra bed. "Just call me Frederick" Mr.Chase smiling. "Just call me Layla. don't need to be so formal" Mrs.Chase said as she ruffle my hair.

"Thank you, Frederick, Layla, for all of this." I said politely.

"You should go to bed, it's late." after saying goodnight to Frederick and Layla, I went to annabeth's room. Her room was painted light grey, her study table is at the edge of the room. She has a king size bed in the middle of the room. There is an extra mattress on the floor. Annabeth was reading a book on her bed. When she saw me, she closed her book and walk to me. "you will be sleeping at this mattress not my bed." annabeth pointed at the mattress.

"Thank you. At least I don't need to sleep in a rubbish dump" I said sarcastically. She raised an eyebrow and looked at me.

"Goodnight" I said as I tugged myself in the mattress, it was so comfortable. although it's just a mattress, but it's even comfortable than the bed I slept in Gabe's house. Annabeth went to turn off the lights and went to her bed.

That night, I didn't even had a nightmare.

The smell of the pancake make me woke up. I quickly tidy my mattress quietly as Annabeth is still sleeping and headed for the kitchen. Layla was preparing breakfast, Frederick was reading the news paper at the dinner table.

"Good morning Mr. and Mrs.Chase" I greeted them.

"Good morning Percy, and there's no need for that. Just call us Frederick and Layla." Frederick said with a warm smile on his lips, Layla who was preparing breakfast gave a chuckle. I just nodded and walk to the dinner table.

"So Percy, I've registered a place at Annabeth's school for you, is it okay?" Frederick said.

I was shocked. School? I didn't even dare to think about it when I was with Gabe. But now,they treated me so good, even offer me to go to school with their daughter. 'Am I dreaming?' I ask myself.

"Percy, you should close your mouth. Or else you will catch flies." Layla said with a grin when realizing my mouth was hung open. I quickly closed my mouth and look at them.

"We decided that you should stay with us-" Frederick said with serious expression, "-after what you've been through, we won't let you go back to that family."

I was really surprised when Frederick said that, but mostly happy because they decided to adopt me.

Finally, I get what I desire the most.

A new family.
