The Hero

Annabeth P.O.V

"You're kind of cute" the jerk said with an mischievous grin. He extend his hand, attempt to touch my face. I was so going to bite his hand if he touches me. But before I can do so, Percy being the hero, pushes his hand away from me. "Don't. Touch. Her!!!" Percy bellowed. He put an arm in front of me protectively.

"Interesting" he said with an evil smile. "You want to be a hero, huh?" He walk closer to Percy and forcefully pull him up by grabbing the end of his collar.

Before Thalia and I could react, a can flew out of nowhere and hit the jerk in the face."Put him down! I'm calling the police!" A familiar voice snarled from behind. We all turned to the direction where the voice came from.

Her brown hair was tied in a loose ponytail. Those brown eyes had turned darker as they were used to be. It was... it was Miss Jackson!!

"Miss..." Before even I could finish my sentence, "none of your business, old lady!" the jerk growled. The other two teenager started to tremble when they heard Miss Jackson said that she called the police.

"You better run before the police arrive" I said sarcastically. The two teenager first looked at the jerk as if he is their leader. But they then quickly ran away before 'the leader' could even reply.

"Hey! You two! Come back here!" 'The leader' shouted with a little quiver in his voice. As he turn back to face us, he slowly release Percy and back away.

Miss Jackson crossed her arms and gave him a death glare. He was so frightened that I could even see fear in his eyes. He ran away with tail between his legs.

"Percy, are you okay" Thalia asked. I turned and look at Percy. He just nodded, but not really paying attention to any of us. His expression was unreadable. He looked... sad? confused? curious? pain? His eyes were full of these expression. But why? Is he hurt?

There was a moment of silence.

"P-Percy? Are you okay?" Miss Jackson knelt down and asked, but there was a quiver in her tone.
