Chapter 37

1 day before the 1 year anniversary

Alfie's POV

Zoe and I have been together nearly a year now and I want to do something special. I have been planning this for a while now because I want it to be perfect for her, because she deserves the world. I have been in contact with Louise and Joe to get some 'behind the scenes help'. I need to call Joe...

"Hey Joe, have you got the rose and my suit?" I ask hopefully.

"Hey Alf, yeah it's all sorted, do you want me to come over with them now?"

"Yes please, if you don't mind". I say. I'm so nervous. I just hope she likes it. 

"Don't worry Joe, I know my sister... She's gonna love it".

"Thanks Joe, see you soon". I say and hang up.

Soon enough Joe was at the door. I took the rose and the suit. When he left, I carried on with my project...

Day of the anniversary.

I woke up and immediately called Zoe.

"Hey gorgeous. Happy 1 year anniversary" Zoe says.

"Hey beautiful. Happy 1 year anniversary" I reply. 

Yesterday I got Joe to give Zoe a bag but told him to hell her not to open it until today.

"You can open the bag now if you like" I say

"Yayyyy. I've been secretly dying to see thi-" she says while opening it "Alfie... this is beautiful" she says shocked.

"You like?" I ask. i bought her a pretty floral dress for tonight with beautiful black heels.

"I loveeee!".

"Wear it tonight, I have something special planned for you" I say.

"Ooh i'll look forward to it" she says excitedly.

We hang up.

7 hours later. It's now 5pm. I have my suit on and everything in place for the night. 

I told Zoe to come over to my place when she is ready then we can carry on with the evening. 

She arrived and we started off the evening with a stroll along the beach at sunset.

"You look stunning Zoe" I say. She turned to me with a cheesy grin on her face.

"Don't look so bad yourself Mr. Deyes" She says as she pulls me in for a passionate kiss. 

We continue to walk along the beach.

I have reservations at a restaurant at 6:30 so we should probably leave now" I say. She smiled and nodded as we walked off the beach. 

We took our seats at the restaurant and we ordered our food.It took a while to get to our table so we engaged in small talk until our meals came. 

"This is the perfect evening. Thank you so much, Alfie" Zoe says gratefully.

"No problem. But the night isn't over yet" I grinned and she laughed.

We finished our dinner and we hopped in the car. 

"Put these on" I say, handing her a blindfold.

"You aren't gonna leave me stranded in an alley way or something are you" she laughs. She puts the blindfolds on and I continue to drive. 

We arrive back at my house and I help Zoe walk upstairs. We step into my room. 

"Take your blindfolds off" I say softly. I grab her hand and intertwine them with mine. She takes her blindfolds off and she looks stunned.

"Alfie... This is beautiful. You did this?" She says, with a slight croak in her voice.

"With a little help from Joe and Louise" I reply.

"Wow" She says,

I brought her into a room full of our memories so far. I hung up pictures all around his room in chronological order. We walked around his room, hand in hand. 

"So this is why we did the photo shoot at the tree house?" She asks ask.

"Yeah, I wanted the memories. I know how sentimental you are and you like to hold on to the past and never forget the good things. I love the memories we have made together so far and I hope to make many more. So... I was thinking... we should make another memory tonight. Zoe, will you move in with me?" I ask nervously.I am 18 now and I felt like it was time to move out. I still wanna live in Brighton because it is literally my dream place to live. But I really wanted to take mine and Zoe's relationship to the next step so i thought it would be a good surprise. 

"YES DEFINITELY!" She replied without even questioning it. "When can we start looking for houses" she asks.

"Actually, I have already done it and I can guarantee that you are gonna love it" I say showing her photographs. 

"I am impressed Alfie Deyes. You have really went the extra mile... I love you so much. This really has been the perfect night. I am eternally grateful for you" She says. I smile uncontrollably.

"I love you so much Zoe".
