"Alan, it's Valentine's day! Wake up, babe," Maddie says, shaking me. I groan and roll out of our bed, accidentally taking my kitten blankets with me. Okay, maybe not accidentally...
"Happy Valentine's day, Maddie," I say, pecking her cheek.
"I have to go to work now. I love you, baby!" she says, grabbing her purse.
"Yeah, love you too," I mumble as she trots out the door and off to her job she goes. I decide to text Phil and Aaron to see if they want to hang today.
To: Phil
Hey, wanna hang? Maddie's at work. Aaron up for it too?
From: Phil
Yea sure man! Meet us at that sushi place at like 12:15!
I look at the clock and see that it's 11:30. Damn, I slept in late. I nod at my phone and stroll to Maddie and I's bedroom. I decide to wear my Death Mewtal shirt and my I ♡ Catitude shorts with my black vans. I look in my mirror.
"I need to straighten my hair," I mutter, and grab my straightening iron, heating it up. As I'm finishing the touches to my ginger hair, I hear the front door open. It has to be one of the guys.
"Ohhh babe, I can't wait for that beautiful monster of yours," I hear Maddie say seductively. What? She should be at work! I cautiously tiptoe out of the room to see Maddie and some guy sucking each other's faces off.
"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL, MADDIE?!" I yell, dropping my straightening iron to the floor. It barely misses my foot, although I wish it had.
"Alan, it isn't what you think it is!!" she says frantically, covering her upper chest.
"Bullshit, Maddie! I heard everything! Go fuck him for all I care! Just get your shit and get out," I hiss, venom dripping from my words. Why would she do this to me...?
"But Alan, babe, I love yo-"
"Get the hell out, and never let me see you again, whore," I say, surprisingly calm. She packs her stuff, and comes out of what used to be our room crying.
"Please, Alan... it isn't what you think," she sobs, trying to get me on her side.
"Bullshit, Maddie, fucking bullshit. Just leave, I don't love you anymore. I can't believe you'd do this to me. I don't want you anymore! You're just a cheater. Get out, and take your 'friend' with you!" I yell, punching the wall.
"Bye, asshole," Maddie says as she walks out the front door with her new man. I sink down to the floor, sitting against the wall as I hug my knees. I just can't believe she'd do this.... What did I ever do to her...? I have done nothing but bring all I've got to the table... Was I not good enough? Was I just a cover for her? Was I used so she could be well-known?
I slowly get up and trudge to my bathroom, looking in the mirror.
"You're a worthless piece of shit," I mutter to myself, sobbing more. I leave the bathroom, and grab my keys. Its 12:00, time to drive to Sushi Palace, so I can meet up with Phil and Aaron. I hope my face doesn't give away what just happened.
