*Alan POV* | Written Feb 15, 2014
I park the car in one of Sushi Palace's parking spots, and get out of my car. I enter the restaurant and immediately spot Phil, Tino, Aaron, Shayley, and Austin. By immediately, I mean they were standing too close to the door.
"Hey guys," I say, realising my voice is all screwed up from my earlier crying.
"What's wrong, Ashby? Something happen?" Tino asks, noticing my cracked voice.
"Maddie cheated," I mumble, not really wanting to talk about it. I'd consider talking to Austin or Shay, but not to everyone. Not yet, at least.
"That sucks. Maybe some sushi will cheer you up?" Phil suggests.
"Yeah, I hope so," I say, as we situate in the table we've been seated in. Austin sits next to me, as I sit on the end, with Shay across from me, Aaron next to Shay, Phil next to Austin and Tino next to Phil. Our waitress then comes to take our orders.
"A California roll, please," I order. The Japanese lady nods, and takes the rest of the groups' orders.
"Is that all?" she asks. We all nod and she walks to the kitchen area to let the cooks know our orders.
"Hey, Ginger Princess, you alright?" Austin asks. I cringe at the name that was given to me three years ago. It's what he's called me since. Only Austin can call me that.
"No," I say, feeling warm tears streaming down my face.
"It's okay, Princess, you're not alone. Do you remember what Gielle did to me?" I nod and let him continue his story. "I know how you feel, and we'll be in this together, okay?" he says.
I hug him, and take a sip of my drink.
"Thanks, Austin," I say.
"Anything for my Ginger Princess," he says, smiling the cutest smile ever. Wait, what Ashby?! Cute smile? Where did that come from? Jeez, I need some sleep.
Ten minutes later, our sushi comes to the table and we begin to devour the delicious Asian food. The waitress looks at us funny, but you know, people are hungry. They've to eat.
"Alan, you can stay with me, if you don't feel comfortable alone," Austin offers halfway through his meal. I nod, shoving another California roll in my mouth.
"Thank you, again," I say. "I couldn't ask for a better friend." My cheeks begin to blush a fiery red. Why am I blushing?
"I'll always be there for my best friend," Austin says, chuckling. "I love you to death!" My cheeks blush even more redder than they were before. I shouldn't be feeling this way to my best friend...., should I?
"I love you too, man!" I say, ignoring the thoughts going berserk in my mind.
We finish eating, and Tino pays for our lunch.
"THANKS TINO!!" we all yell. Tino laughs, and we all part our ways home. Well, except Austin who's following me home to make sure I don't do something stupid, which I probably would end up doing.
Austin and I reach my house, and we park.
"Austin?" I say.
"Yes, my Ginger Princess?" he replies.
"I don't want to go school on Monday," I whine. "Maddie will be there and I don't want to see her," I whisper, tears flowing now freely down my face. Austin walks to me and wraps his arms around me in a hug. I hug him back, and cry into his chest.
"Everything will sort itself out in the end, Alan. I hate to take Vic's saying and all, but you'll be okay. Forget about that whore, she's not worth all the trouble. You're so much better than her, understand? Never forget it. Please, promise me you'll try your hardest not to do anything stupid," he says.
"I promise, I'll try my hardest," I sob. Austin picks me up bridal style, and carries me into my house and plops me down on the bed.
"I'll wait in the car, alright? I'm not going anywhere," he says, beginning to leave.
"No!" I yell, beginning to freak out. "Please don't leave me! Please stay, please don't go!" I say, crying hysterically. I hope to fucking god Maddie doesn't see me like this.
"It's alright, Alan, I'm right here. I won't leave, I'll stay, I promise. Please breathe, breathe for me."
Shit, I'm having a fucking panic attack. I try to breathe normally, but I find much difficulty in it.
"Alan, please! Try to match my breaths," Austin says, placing my hand on his heart. "Try to match your breaths to my heart beat." I nod, and try to breathe normally again.
"I can't do it!" I yell, frustratedly, breathing faster.
"You need to try harder! You can do it!" Austin says.
I shake my head. Everything is spinning.
"Alan!" Austin screams, terrified. I fall to the floor and black out.
