Hello guys if I get a lot of votes on this, I'll update tomorrow (((-:
With days worth of family outings and discovering different things about living in the states, my week with my mum and the other 4 people who have gradually made themselves home in my heart had sadly come to an end. Turns out Johnny is the boy that Clementine wouldn't stop droning on about, and to me it was quite surreal. What a small world this is. Mum said that the next time I come down to visit, Clementine was welcome to sit next to me on the plane and join me on my stay. I gladly obliged, squeezing her in a one arm hug, my other arm occupied by a big leather suitcase. "Honey, please do not be afraid to ask for a plane ticket back to New Jersey. We really enjoyed your stay." Geoff sighed with his eyes glimmering in complete elation. I huffed glumly, wrapping a single arm around his waist and putting my ear to his chest. His fingertips met my scalp. "I'm gonna actually miss you, Geoff." I joked, tugging on his shirt bitterly. He scowled at me before leaving a promising peck to my forehead where my hairline began. Swollen puffy clouds parted in the sky, revealing the bright sun beating heavenly down onto my well-tanned skin. I wonder what Harry will think when he notices the pigmented tone of my skin that was once a milky pale tinge. I gave the three younger siblings a light squeeze, placing a gentle kiss on Lionel's nose. Our relationship has grown into a state of absolute bliss. I felt so much love for him as if I've known that he was my baby brother from the day that my mum had become pregnant with him. With a slightly arousing snarl leaving his lips, I pinched his bum to which he gave in and leaned in to put his lips to my cheekbone. "By Stevo." He announced in a grumpy voice, not exactly elated at the thought of me boarding a plane back home. He had also irritatingly given me a boyish nickname. "Next time I come, I'll bring you a new game for your console." I promised. He nodded as I tripped over towards the twins, their lanky fingers fumbling together humbly. "Just live with us, can't you?" Vivi exhaled, grabbing my shoulder and shaking it wildly. I stumbled backwards, catching myself quick enough to rope my arms around her tiny waist and press my nose into her lemon scented hair. "I live in London and I always will, besides, I've only got one more year before I'm entitled to actually live on my own."
I sank into her hold much longer than intended before dipping out of her grip and mimicking my actions with Johnny. "You better be good, stinky." I declared, depicting in my head the night that I discovered his disgusting stench of a sock drawer. He claimed that it was only because he played american football on the daily base. My finger stuck him in his chest, and I furrowed my eyebrows. "Hear me?" I repeated, before breaking into a warming smile and springing back up into my normal height. "Bye, you guys." I hummed sadly, stepping into the terminal. My bag was much heavier than it was when I arrived in New Jersey due to endless trips to the shopping center. Though I was apart of the traditional gift opening at eight AM on Christmas, mum still insisted I go shopping with her. Geoff gave me a ring with my birthstone studded around the rim, Lionel claimed that he was too young and didn't have money to buy me anything, Johnny gave me silver ballpoint pen that had "10 years worth of ink", and Vivi gave me an overused book, it's pages crispy with hints of coffee stains and scribbly notes made with a purple inked pen off to the side. The spine of the novel was about ready to fall off, but with a quick scan of the first page, I simply took the book and snuggled it to my chest. Lastly, mum gave me pendant shaped as a book, little diamonds outlining the dimensions, real diamonds. Of course I shed a few tears, but mum demanded me not to sweat it, said it was an apology gift for spending so many Christmas's without me. So with my bags shut away in the carry-on compartment and my eyes shut as I listened to the dwindle buzzing of the plane engine, my mind settled onto one major thought and that was of being in the presence of Harry after a long week without him.
I wasn't all too afraid as the plane rumbled here and there, the pilot clearly informed us that there would be mild turbulence and so I adjusted my standards for the flight and placidly stuck my cheek to the window. My wish to just fall asleep and wake up with no more than 5 hours left was quickly checked off my list as the engine of the plane cackled with a disturbing noise. There was no possibility of me falling asleep with this noise piercing the drum of my ears. I sighed and plugged in my earbuds, the wind batting at the windows mixing in with the low rattle of the engine. If you were to create the worst sound in the world, it would be eerily similar to the one that I'm hearing now. I payed no attention to the lethargic clouds that we brushed past, instead flipping through the many albums on my cell phone. It wasn't until a splintering cry erupted into the air that I completely lost it, fumbling with my earbuds and shoving them into one of the many pockets of my leather tote sitting on the edge of my seat. Baby's were always the worst things on an airplane. Not even an hour into my flight and I already dismissed the idea of ever getting on a plane again, but of course my options were limited since I had a boyfriend who traveled worldwide. Brutal winds shook the plane and it was ironic to think the weather was absolutely dapper while I stayed in New Jersey, but it totally decides to crumble into clouds and wind on my departure day. I bit my tongue, chewing on it nervously. Annoyed was an understatement. I was infuriated with Mother Nature. I just want to get back home, to be with my boyfriend and smell the familiar honey and lavender of my condo. Was that too much to ask? And as if my mental whining had added up over the few hours and triggered an anger in the universe, all hell ensued when the plane tilted into a dive.
The overcome beeped as the pilot spoke calmly. "Hello passengers, it's your pilot, Donald Atkins, we are in a dive. I repeat we are in a dive. We are attempting emergency landing in Ontario, everybody remain calm. Flight attendants, we ask that you buckle up."
Immediately, I pressed my nose to the seat in front of me and shut my eyes, praying that the emergency landing goes well, though my chances were short-handed considering the nose of the plane was at an unearthly angle. I tried to think of anything besides dying, but as my head ceased on with its madness, the speed that the plane obtained only picked up, the engines cackling with an unusual stir of burping.
"Are you sitting alone?" someone hesitantly spoke, causing my head to snap up and glare into a pair of frightened gray eyes. "Y-Yeah." I choked, waving over the younger girl. She looked almost 14, her silky long hair frazzled into different directions. "I'm riding on my own today." She spoke, a small tear slipping down her cheekbone. "Me too, but we've got each other." I spoke gently, rubbing her back as she plopped down right beside me. She nodded, strands of hair falling into her full eyes. "What's your name?" I asked, trying to ensue conversation so that her mind could cease away from the idea of dropping from thousands of feet.
She looked up at me, her peachy lips parting as she attempted to speak, but no words came out. "Sweetie." I breathed, nuzzling my fingers into the palm of her hand comfortingly. "I'm Dawn." She wheezed, looking down at her lap as her breathing picked up. "Nice to meet you Dawn, I'm Stephanie and I need you to stay calm, alright?" I spoke fairly soft, nudging my fingers closer into her hand. Her cheeks warmed up into a pink tinge as she nodded, bringing her lips into a firm smile. When I angled my head to take a risky peek out the window, my breath hitched in my throat and easily slipped out my mouth. Only a few hundred yards down was the ground, and though the angle of the plane had slightly became more horizontal, I could only imagine the amount of hospital bills being payed tonight. "Dawn, we will be fine, just breathe." I assured the young teenage girl who's grip on my hand only tightened as we neared the ground. The impact was nothing like I imagined. I could only hear the rippling of the tires and the tearing of the wings, our bodies jolted frantically, jabbing various objects and loud gasps ripped through the air, cries from babies making my heart race. When I looked to my right, Dawn was sat beside me tears falling down her face as her eyes squeezed shut. When I noticed the various bumps and splotches of blood covering her face, I could only picture what myself looked like. It wasn't until an uncomfortable silence overtook the still plane that I felt the pain sting through my body. I just praised the fact that nothing worse happened.
I knew that Harry would be worried to find out that I didn't make it home on time, especially after an inhuman amount of calls that we made last night and this morning. My mum would totally freak considering I was supposed to make a call for her once I made it back home, and then the whole world would freak when they find out Harry Styles Girlfriend had minor injures on a plane crash. And after the erratic buzzing of cop cars filed into the unidentified area that we landed in, I suddenly realized that I was alive and so was Dawn.
