READ AUTHORS NOTE AT THE END!!!
"Harry we don't even live together." I quipped after he, so willingly, blurted the most selfless thing I'd heard in ages. The desire to adopt the teenage girl who cuddled into my side during the mishap of the flight and gradually stuck to me like glue. "We'll move together. Of course, if you don't mind." He sputtered again, making me clench my fingers nails into the leather seating. "Don't you think you're taking this quite far?" I simply muttered through gritted teeth, though he was being totally civil, albeit straightforward about it. "Yes." He laughed. I quirked my eyebrow and shook my head. "We're only a few years older than her. To adopt her as parents would be absolutely insane." I huffed, plucking my fingers against the cold window, outlining the stars in the bare sky. "Where are you going with this? to adopt someone, you'd be their guardian, not exactly their parent. C'mon I'm being nice here, she'd be like our little sister." He pleaded, and though he's only barely met her a mere 2 hours ago, he was already on the brink of being in love with the idea of adopting her. "If she was a little sister to me and you, then it'd be kind of weird considering you're totally like.. uh -- my boyfriend." I sarcastically stated, pursing my lips. "True. But you get what I'm saying? It wouldn't be all too bad. In fact, I suppose it'd be quite fun to carry around another human with us." He chortled, roping his fingers together nervously as they steered the wheel.
"Sure, and what would the media say about us carrying around another human?" I giggled, carding my fingertips through the roots of my hair. "She's your sister, right?" He whispered, winking at me before peering back towards the road ahead. "Sure." I blurted, shrugging my shoulders. "So yeah?" He cheerfully chuckled, and I clasped my hand over his where it wrapped around the wheel. He peeked up at me and I sent him a reassuring smile which meant, yes we'll go with your absolutely crazy idea of adopting a sweet girl that I personally only knew for 2 days. So as we pulled into the parking lot of my dearly missed condo complex, Harry turned off the ignition and silently sat there. I was beginning to gather my things before I noticed his secrecy and slumped back into the curve of the seat. "Harold?" I sighed, waving a hand in front of his face. "God, I missed you." He ignored me, taking a long pause to take in my emotions. His pupils dilated and his lips slowly curved into breath taking grin. "You ok?" I giggled, out of breath with the amount of charm laced into his features. "Perfect, thank you." He sighed contentedly. After sending a reassuring nod in my direction and a cheeky wink, his door was opened and he strode towards the boot of the SUV to grab my things.

Liam and Zayn tried to convince Harry that adopting a 14 year old girl was the craziest shit they'd heard, but Harry continued to try and convince them that it was totally fine and worth it. Niall and Louis both shrugged and murmured signs of agreement with Harry's antics. I sat on the couch with my arms crossed, pondering on the thought of toasted bagels or sub sandwiches for lunch. It was then that I noticed the room was quite and when I peered up to observe the sudden silence, everyone's eyes were pasted on me. "What." I seethed, arching my eyebrows. "I asked you a question." Harry sighed, shaking his head at my habitual tendency of zoning off. "Uh, sorry." I giggled.
"What do you think we should do, truthfully?" He inquired, raising his eyebrows in question. "Truthfully? I think it's dumb. But my heart says we should." I blurted without giving him any room to add any thoughts. "Well then let's do it. Let's get our adopt on." He laughed with an unnecessary hand gesture. I sighed and sat up from the couch. "Sure."

"You'll stay with Steph until we move together." Harry informed Dawn, pressing his fingers to my hip while his palm was flat to my waist. "Alright." She giddily agreed, and it warmed my heart to see how happy she was about finally getting adopted. All her things were pressed into the nearest corner of my closet and it wasn't much but it still didn't quite fit. She organized most of it, and it made me happy that she was all about cleanliness as well. "I'll be back with lunch." Harry informed before lankily tripping through the door frame. dawn, all smiles, peered up at me. "Your boyfriend looks oddly familiar." She giggled, sitting at the foot of my bed. I stared at her for a long while before bursting into medley of giggles. "What do you mean?" I breathed through clunks of raspy laughter. "It's like-- I've seen him somewhere but I can't quite put my finger on it." She stated, glaring up at the ceiling in thought. I silently chortled at her naiveness. "Is he, perhaps, in a band of some sort?" She blinked quickly, licking her lips. "You got it." I laughed, shaking my head. "One direction?" I added, patting her back, because somehow I felt a pang of pity that she's basically been living under a rock. "Oh, right!" She laughed, and we both walked towards the living room to pop in a movie. It seems that all I do nowadays is lazily sink into the couch and watch films. Now my job is to help Dawn adapt to my laid back habitat and drag her into the routine of wake up and relax, with me.
It wasn't long before Harry returned with styrofoam cups of bean soup and garlic bread from one of the vendors, and immediately Dawn began questioning him about the band that she so obliviously hadn't heard of until now. I sat in a complete fit of laughter as she droned on and it never seemed to stop.
