Prisoner of the Capitol

Chapter 4

KATNISS'S POV:

I open my eyes and find myself lying on the lounge, I see Willow sitting on the floor playing with her doll that Peeta made for her. He also made one for me that had blonde hair, he braided her hair and dressed her up like a doctor. I kept the doll for a few days but I just couldn't cope having a doll that looked like Prim in the house so one day I went outside and buried it near the evening primrose that Peeta planted when we first got back after the war was over.

I would like to do the same thing with Willow's doll because Peeta made it to resemble Rue, my ally from the first games but she barely ever lets it out of her sight!

"Hi sweetie," I say to her.

Then she turns toward me and I see that she is crying, I quickly stand up and go and sit next to her on the floor.

"What's wrong baby?" I ask her

She sniffles and then says

"Daddy was yelling at that lady and it scared me, then she left and I came back downstairs and he was gone too."

I start to worry about what he might do to her because of who she is. I decide that I need to go and find them, so I pick Willow up who keeps a tight grip on her doll and walk across the Victors Village to the only other house that is occupied. When I get there, I bang on the door and when there's no answer I open the door and walk straight in.

"HAYMITCH," I call "ARE YOU HERE???"

I hear someone coming down the stairs and when I look up I see Hazelle Hawthorne , the mother of my old best friend, Gale.

"Haymitch left with Peeta an hour ago, Katniss" she tells me.

"Oh," I say "Do you know where exactly they were going?"

"No, sorry" she says "Peeta just came here, asked Haymitch if he could talk to him in private, then they left and I haven't heard from either of them since!"

"I'm going to try and find them," I say " Can I please leave Willow here for a bit?"

"Of course you can Katniss," Hazelle says "I'm busy at the moment but I'll get Posy to look after her!"

Just as she said that Posy comes down the stairs holding a wet towel,

"Mum, he left his towel in the bath again!" She says to Hazelle, "what should I do with it?"

Hazelle sighs, "I've told you before, you don't have to do any work, that's my job."

"But I feel like I should be doing something to repay Haymitch for letting us live here!" Posy replies.

"Well if you really want to do something," Hazelle says to her "Can you watch Willow for a bit?"

Posy's eyes light up, I know she loves spending time with Willow,

"Sure, where are you going Katniss?"

"I'm not sure," I tell her "I'm going looking for Peeta and Haymitch."

"Oh, I'm pretty sure they went to the meadow," she tells me "I saw them heading that direction when I was coming back from the butchers."

"Thanks Posy, was there a lady with them by any chance?" I ask.

"Nope," she says "It was just the two of them, why?"

"I'll explain later," I say, "I've got to go and find them!"
