"HEY!"
"Ah, who are you again? I'm quite forgetful when it comes to names," Karina had been stopped by many people that day but one in particular was very dedicated, a human named Mike Newton who the vampires thought was a bit desperate. During lunch, both covens decided to hang out at the Cullen—Hale usual spot, joining up one more table and two chairs to fit everyone in.
"She leaves for one second and she's already getting hit on. Or really, trying to get hit on," Jasper muttered, but of course his family heard, getting up to help her.
"Damn, jealous?" Roman smirked as the Hale sent him a glare. "Seriously, though, you need to go over there because if my little sister gets really annoyed then there's gonna be a bloodbath. It's happened before."
Jasper took the warning and rushed over to Karina's side. She faked a laugh and grabbed onto his jacket wanting to get out of the awkward situation as soon as possible.
"Hey, J—Jasper, you know, we were just talkin'. I wanted to introduce myself to, erm, Karina a—and don't worry, there's no funny business going on." Jasper glared at him fiercely and the human backed away cautiously before running to his friends.
"Thanks, Jasper, he was really starting to annoy me."
"No problem." Jasper led Karina back to their table where the group quieted down at their arrival.
"Her knight in shining armour!" Emmett announced, causing the group to laugh.
"Shut up," Jasper sneered, though no response from Emmett.
"So, Roman and Karina, what's it like living for more than 300 hundred years? You're older than the rest of us so what's that like?" Emmett curiously asked.
"It's been fun to see how things have evolved around us. Being old is somewhat tiring," Roman started, laying his arm on top of Alice's chair. "We've met so many people, vampires and humans alike. Our kind are incredibly rare nowadays cause they're in hiding or something. Our ancestors would be disappointed in us for not keeping up the bloodline."
"Hey, everything's gonna be okay. Who knows, you probably can keep it up," Alice assured, and that's when Jasper realised that Roman and Karina would be one of the reasons for a good future, specifically Alice.
"I have an idea. How about after school you guys come to our house, so you can see Carlisle and Esme," Edward suggested, to which the siblings nodded in excitement.
